  • The Sisters of Mercy organization was founded in 1831 in Ireland and quickly spread to many other locations. The sisters would take in the homeless and offer them a place to stay, but the sisters good intentions eventually turned violent, and the Sisters of Mercy became almost like a prison! Check out these brutal nuns in our new video that exposes the Sisters of Mercy for who they really were!

@@ankyfire Wow, what a well crafted and compelling argument. I'm convinced. You do realize that these freakish events don't represent all of Catholicism? Even I would have to grant that, and I have a decent idea as to how corrupt the Catholic Church is. Also, you might find it interesting that only 6.98 percent of all wars were religious. Roughly 4 percent were from Islam, 1 percent from Christianity, and the remaining 1.98 percent come from all of the other religions. The remaining 93.02 percent of global conflicts did not have religion as their primary cause. If you don't believe me, look up the Encyclopedia of Wars. It has all of this information available.

I was educated by the Sisters of Mercy through high school and the Jesuit priests through University. The Catholic Church certainly has a woeful history, but I am proud of my religion and education. I never had a problem with a nun or a priest. I was a member of the Mercy Corps after Uni, which is a 2 year program where both men and women work in non profit organizations run by the Sisters of Mercy. There are rats in everyone's ship, and I would never defend a scoundrel masquerading as a nun or a priest. As everyone, the Church is growing and evolving, trying to learn from the heinous mistakes made by aforementioned scoundrels.
Also there is no difference in the Roman Catholic Church between a nun and a Religious Sister. This may be different in the Lutheran Church, who has their own program similar to a Catholic nun. Some nuns live in convents, or "monasteries" as they referred to in this video, some share homes or apartments with one or more nuns in the community in which they work. It largely depends on how close the "Motherhouse" is to the nuns workplace. A nun in a Motherhouse is no more or less a nun than one who has an apartment near her work, which they call their ministry, whether they work in a Church, hospital, school, or nonprofit organization. The vows are identical.
Thus was an unfairly biased video. I recognize that this is likely a content farm channel, but if you're going to act as a journalist, try to be an ethical one. The Church has a responsibility to never forget the sins of their past, lest we repeat them. But don't tell of the past in a way that suggests that this is still commonplace. Yes there are still rats on our ship, but they are far fewer, and they were never actually nuns, priests or even Catholics. They are beings drenched in sin who masqueraded as Religious people, and will eventually be punished.

At the end of Army basic one of my drill sergeants asked me which was tougher, Navy or Army basic. My response to him was “I know some nuns back at Holy Angels Academy that could teach all y’all a things or two.”
He laughed but what he may not have realized is that going to Catholic school actually made basic training kind of easy and I’m dead serious about that, right down to uniform inspections that my mom put me through.
