On Day 4 in Langkawi we started the day by heading to the Kilim Geo Park Mangrove, which is a park in Langkawi dedicated to preserving the mangroves. The best way to get around is to rent a boat, so we had a boat that took us around to a variety of different stops. After getting in the boat our first stop was the bat cave, which was filled with bats. After checking out the bats we continued back into the boat and stopped at a place called Gua Langsir, which was kind of like a crater that fills with water depending on the tide of the ocean.
After visiting a variety of different sites we continued on the mangrove tour by just cruising on the boat. It was nice to just sit and relax and enjoy the cool breeze as we glided through the water. Mangrove trees are very important in Langkawi and they are protected on the island. After riding the boat around for a while we continued on to a section where there are a number of different floating restaurants. We stopped at Hold in The Wall Restaurant to first go to the fish farm. They had quite a nice selection of huge fish, and they fed them. It was very interesting to see, especially the stingray. The stingray felt like an elephant, but slimy.
We had lunch at Hole in The Wall Floating restaurant on the Langkawi mangrove tour, but the food was not good. It was salty and sweet, but overpriced and I think the flavors were very toned down - quite touristy.
After the Langkawi mangrove tour we had a little extra time, and so with the help of our guide and driver, we stopped at a local Malaysian wedding taking place at someones house right along the road. I’m going to edit a full video about this experience, because it was incredible, but in the Langkawi video I just included a quick teaser.
Finally, for dinner we went to The Andaman hotel and ate at The Japanese Restaurant. Overall the Japanese food was pretty good.

hi mark! im a malaysian and its an honor that u tasted almost all malaysian foods and really glad that u really really like them all. Here's a suggestion, every state in malaysian, they have different taste and texture of the food, i think to satisfy ur tastebuds, u should go try other dishes in other states like for example Kelantan, sabah, sarawak, johor, terengganu etc. u'll find that foods at different states are actually like the identity of the variety cultures we have here.
p.s. -- by the way, i watched all your videos, kinda funny when u named every gravy dishes u have tried as 'curry' hehehe. i catched that so many times in ur explaination.
Sorry for bad english lol. thanks again, please come again to malaysia :)
Loving it, can't wait for the next one. Thanks you Mark for sharing

Mark Wiens Just three words for this video:extraordinary, sumptuous and sublime!!
Love ur vids mark! I enjoy every bit of it!
Watching you crash that wedding reminded me of when my dad brought my sister and I to a wedding at a kampong, many years ago. Coincidentally, there was another wedding that was going on nearby. So afterwards, we decided to pass by to see who was getting married. To my dad's surprise, it was actually the wedding that we were SUPPOSED to attend! Turns out, we had been accidentally crashing someone else's wedding the entire time, eating all their food! But the people were so nice, they welcomed us with open arms anyway. :)
That's hilarious :)
I really love your videos! You are my #1 food vlogger, keep going :)

Hi Mark. I landed a univ teaching job in Thailand recently and so I am learning Thai and watching your videos. Im so glad I stumbled upon them because they teach me the words and general pace and prices of coping with Thai food and society that I need. Add that I am also a foodie and then its such a unique and useful find, to have someone survey foods there, but also teach me HOW TO SAY THEM!! please be sure to thank your best friend the camerawoman everyday and please, keep on going!!!
Pasa dena Hey Pasa, great to hear from you, thank you very much for watching, and glad they are helpful. Keep enjoying Thai food!
PS. Mark, Pasadena is a city in the LA area, with a great history, the Norton Simon Museum, and the Huntington Library and Museum, the Gamble House, which is like a Frank Lloyd Wright home, and many amazingly beautiful 100 year old custom designed homes, as its early residential area. I work there currently, until I get to Phetchaburi in July!! Hope you get to Pasadena someday. Maybe you have seen a New Years Rose Parade in Pasadena, or seen the Rose Bowl football game, also in Pasadena!! Thnx for reply!!
+Pasa dena lol, he's from AZ. He knows.
And that's his wife

Yum! Loved the food and can't wait ro see the wedding! I love it when you provide the prices of everything, gives the audience an idea of how much everything might cost if they went there themselves. So helpful :)
Beautiful. Thanks for sharing.
Only just found your videos and they are amazing.
Another great video !
I've been looking forward to your video a whole day. That tokay gecko is so scary by the way.
***** well for people who grow up in Thailand just randomly ask them on the street and see how many of them are not scared of these creatures. It's like me saying spiders aren't scary because they are not to me. I can kill them if I see one. I'm not a fan of any kind of reptiles at all. Bye.
ammi tious next time ask Mark wien to catch it and sell it to Chinesse Restaurant..it really Expensive
ariff abdullah sure thing.
ammi tious i dont mind geckos - they look cute - i dont like spiders much and i would freak if i saw a spider the size of a gecko - i wonder if any geckos are poisonous....
+GB3770 My house have a lot of spiders the size of that geckos... TT
