I've been a big fan of Peter Frampton's since way back in the Humble Pie days. He never ceases to amaze me how good he really is. If I didn't see this video I would never guessed it was him playing the guitar.
Georgie Fame as good now as he was when I use to watch and listen to him in 64/65 and Bill Wyman doesn't seem to have changed since I last saw the Stones in 65. A long long time ago, happy days.
Absolutely fantastic!! Peter Frampton Albert Lee. Gary Brooker, Bill Wyman, complete killers. Get JJ Cale rendition. I gotta listen to all their stuff. Thanks. Oh Yeah Georgie Fame !!!!!
THANKS FOR THE VIDEO, I NEVER HEARD OF THIS GROUP UNTIL NOW, WHAT A LINE UP OF GREAT MUSICIANS, WHAT MORE COULD YOU ASK FOR, JUST AWESOME, THANKS, COUSIN FIGEL
Back in the 60’s, there were only 2 bass players who REALLY knew how to move the bottom end, and keep the rhythm tight. One was Rick Huxley from The Dave Clark 5, and the other was the legendary Bill Wyman from The Stones. Rock On, Bill!
Anthony Schmidt Albert Lee is the blond haired guitarist and Georgie Fame, I forget his real name is the vocalist. Don’t know the others but you can google em
Graham Broad, drums. Frank Meade and Nick Payne, sax. Gary Brooker, piano. Georgie Fame, organ. Peter Frampton, guitar. Albert Lee, guitar. Not sure about the backup singers. And of course Bill who put the whole group together.
What you really mean is Lay Down Sally sounds like this. This was written by J J Cale and Clapton was hanging out with Cale when Lay Down Sally was written
"Friday", "Lay down Sally", "you can call me anytime" (from Albert) and this one look very much alike. But the two off JJ stand on the same key. I would say that "call me anytime" and "Sally" are very similar up to a POINT. (And another one from the 1st Dire Straits album). . However, the "INFLUENCER" and main responsible of the style is>>>>>>>>>>>>the one and only: Mr JJ CALE 👏👏👏👏❤️
Now I'm the same overall size as Bill, but I can play a Rickenbacker, or a Jazz, just fine. I'd like to meet Bill before it's too late to compare hand sizes.
Is anybody able to tell me the name of the guitarist with the white hair (not Albert Lee) glasses, check shirt and red guitar, he is standing next to Bill Wyman and is at the end of the row in front of Georgie Fame on the organ. if you know the names of any of the others that would be useful too along with their instruments. I really can't say how many times I've played this since its been available on here, I never tire of it.
Georgie Fame..Yeh Yeh .. one of my favorite musicians. And of course the others too ...

Well these recordings are themselves over 20 years old so Bill's changed a fair bit since then
@@Kinuklon Yep, good point.

Sure that’s Joe Browns daughter, Sam , in the middle too.

Paul McCartney?
What about Jet Harris ? He stood bass playing on its head !
@@janinapalmer8368 That was the 50s!
Jamerson could do anything. Even when he was so drunk he couldn't stand.
The best version of this song
UTTERLY utterly FANTASTIC.
The Rhythm Kings set the bar for all rock bands.

A great J.J. Cale tune....

Beautiful made need more
Фрэмптон и Алберт Ли хорошие . Кайфую от них всех . Уаймен собрал отличную банду олдовых музыкантов . Все в тему .

Wow... pftssss... that was fun !!!
Great live.
Bil wimans peterfranton vincel gril tres fenomenos ♥️♥️♥️😚
Is that a JJ Cale number. He was amazing and so easy going. He wasn't bothered about making money. A easy life was more important.
Genau das was ich liebe und gerne gespielt habe … Noch besser waren … unsere vielen Jam-Sessions … 🦍
genial very serious Music....GIANT
Bill cracks me up. Seems every bit as bored with these guys as he did with the Stones.
I think that might be concentration.
Georgie fame always seemed to get the best out of van Morrison on stage. His enthusiasm seemed to rub off on the grumpy old bollox.
Memorando JJ.CALE...genio !
muy bueno!!
Albert's playing on this reminds me of his tune Crosstown Link.
Seamless!!!
very good
Let's hear it for that drummer!
Smooth

Listen to JJ Cale and his wife Christine sing this

Lay Down Sally is all I hear.

That's the first thing I thought.

Is that Georgie Fame on vocals? Sounds like him.
+Tony Quintero indeed.
Georgie Fame is on lead vocals indeed. Peter Frampton on lead guitar as well as Albert Lee.
Yes he is.
A couple real live guitar wizards show what they can do with a one chord train beat jam.
Can someone identify who is who?
Mr. Whiter shade of pale and Peter Frampton!!
Frampton on the Cherry LP?
Smoooth :-D
Mr. Gary Brooker on piano!

I believe that is Joe Browns daughter, Sam !
Certainly looks like her - one of the UK's best ever female singers
Could I get a poster with the faces of the 74 jerks who gave this vid a thumbdown, gotta find myself 74 darts though!
