    Fortunately, I had a college economics teacher that taught me a lesson at 18. That lesson was: for every purchase you make, you can't buy something else. Varied sources of income is wise and especially living within your means. Think about taxes and how you get your income. I made $92k combined net last year and paid no Federal taxes.

    After making 1 crore before 35 years of age I realized . Its a curse to be born in India's system, u earn money , pay 31.2% direct taxes which goes to reservation, minority appeasement, I need to buy own health insurance which has terms n conditions because govt doesn't care. Plan for children's education, plan for retirement. All burden on you and when one virus comes govt can't even provide you one oxygen cylinder. All developed countries takes care of their tax payers and in India it's opposite. I am not criticising a country but a system built here.

      You should be fortunate and blessed to make 1C before 35 and just think how many people are able to make this money in this short term? Many takes 50s,60s to get this corpus. I partially agree with your views. Main thing to notice is you can plan your entire life till last with this amount considering cost of living in India..whereas this amount will never be sufficient if you live in foreign countries and MOREOVER YOU CAN NEVER MAKE /SAVE THIS MONEY THERE IN short term. There is plus and minus in every system. TAke only PLUS. We only need to adopt ourselves Peacefully with available money.
      Just consider how your parents and grandparents would have managed and brought up you with this system and still you call as a Curse!! Time to see the better perspective :)

    • @ETMONEY
      @ETMONEY  Před 2 lety

      Sure. Pls click on www.etmoney.com/tools-and-calculators/sip-calculator and change the values to 10,000 rupees per month and 25 years in time period. Keep the profile as aggressive. This would give you a corpus of 1.9 crores which is the corpus at the age of 50 years i.e. 25 (starting age) + 25 years of investing.
      Now take this 1.9 crores and compound it by 12% for another 10 years. So on Google, 1.9*(1.12)^10. This comes to 5.9 crores. Hope this helps

    Hi @ET Money,
    In your Excel Calculator, the column name is "Post Retirement Monthly Expenses", whereas the calculation comes for Yearly expenses, I guess the column name needs to change to "Post Retirement Yearly Expenses"

      Hi, good observation. I was about to point to this. Also, The annual expense in this column at the age 61 is calculated as (expense at age 60)*12*inflation_factor with inflation factor being calculated as 1. It should have been (expense at age 60) *12*1.07% (assuming inflation at 7%).
      Please clarify.

    Hello Shankar/ ET Money Team, Congratulations on creating such beautiful content. Also, thanks a lot for the retirement calculator. It is awesome. But, I think you have a glitch. On Colum N, you used IF(($D$10-$D$9)>$B23,(G23*12*(1+G$16)),0) where 1+G$16 this thing gave it a flavor of CAGR as if the entire money will be invested at one go. Should we not use FV to take periodicity into account? Thanks, Avi

    @ETMONEY I did not expect the mistake you guys made while preparing this xls sheet. It would be nice if you correct it and reupload. What is the error? - For any year you have added all the the contribution and then multiplied by interest rate to calculate interest, which is complete wrong. Is not it like RD/SIP? EPF and PPF interest gets calculated on montly balance

    Hi, there seems to be an error in calculation in "Post Retirement Monthly Expenses" in sheet 1. I am seeing an inflation grow from 1LK today to 43LK in 23 years. I think you are multiplying it with "12", which makes it a yearly expense not monthly.

    • @amanjain9110
      @amanjain9110 Před 3 lety +1

      It allows 50,000 extra tax free money. So, it is always good. Only issue with NPS is the lock-in period. You can't withdraw the money till the time of retirement. Even at retirement, you can withdraw 60% lumpsum and rest you need to invest at a Pension fund.
      There are some financial advisors to whom you may trust, but they will be expensive :P
      Beter to learn to manage your money by your own. If needed, ask some of your friends who too do it, still make the decision after your own consideration.
