@@TheL0rd0fSpace But it's still technically a free case. Just a mandatory FREE CASE that you are required to BUY THE KEY FOR that serves basically as protection from someone making 10000 accounts to farm a good skin for no cost.
The crate gives you the gun, the key unlocks it for you to use. You can view the crate's contents for free, and if you decide you want the contents (or if you want to open another crate), you have to unlock the crate with the key.

This only changes the fact that you know what you’re gonna get out of the case but if I’m understanding this correctly you have to still buy that thing in that case in order to open another one so it’s still the same exact system except technically you know what you’re getting before you buy the key but you’re still forced to get that item whether you want to or not

So if you are scanning a crate and see a bad weapon skin, you see that skin for ervy other case. It doesent mean that the skin is in the case you are just seeing the preview of the other case.

Technically speaking, this system is the same as our system from the rest of the world. The only difference is Valve is lying to the French government in saying that they're not loot boxes because the contents aren't random.

@TreBsta No, it is the exact same thing, because mostly u will get a crappy blue skin, and so if you want to open another case, you have to take a gamble and just buy the current one in hopes that the next one will be better.
Because I saw a lot of comments saying that this doesn't change nothing and it's still illigal because it's gambling. First you don't buy a random thing, you buy a skin, it's like buying every other skin on the market but this one is having a little bonus, the x ray. Also it doesn't open the case, it's just revealing the skin that you will get if you buy it. Then to use the xray again you have to open the case that you used the scanner before, but you know what skin you are gonna get if you spend a key and also you know that you are gonna get the xray back so that doesn't count as gambling as well. It's your choice if u wanna spend the key or buy one to get the skin or xray back so again, you know what you are gonna get if you pay to open the case. That doesn't sound like gambling, it's just a very smart marketing strategy.

It's not gambling technically. You don't have to buy the case. It's essentially knowing you're going to lose, and you can stop playing without having to lose anything.
Yes you can still gamble with it, but when you keep on paying €2,20 knowing damn well it's a P250 Valence you stop much sooner.

And you will technically not get anything from scanning the case
