Merry Christmas!! 🎁
♥️🥰🌲🦌😭😭😭😭thank yewwww!
Julia is still known to send care packages and congratulations to every Elphaba that takes over on Broadway to THIS DAY. Truly a very nice and special talented lady
Awwww that’s so kind
Absolute perfection. I miss the days when Elphabas acted
I agree but think Talia and Alyssa have done well to bring that style back to Broadway
@@spintaneousrazzletbh im not enjoying alyssa. i dont know why and what but simethings just off with her for me.
mckenzie on the other hand, probably a close second after kristin (no one will ever be better)
This performance is the perfect example of someone who is not only great at what they do but someone who has studied the craft. Julia is Elphaba throughout this whole performance, her vocals aren't pop or riffy, they're unique and very classically musical theatre. Stunning. Period.
JAW ON THE FLOOR AND SHE HASNT EVEN FLOWN
Truth!
what i love about this performance is that even though she doesn't do anything crazy vocally like a lot of elphaba's do on their last show, she really amps up her already immaculate acting. it's almost like she did the acting equivalent of adding a ton of crazy riffs. the greatest elphaba in my opinion.
Julia Murney is a gift from the gods and we are completley unworthy.
The pause and realisation before she replied “You too”…I gasped. Iconic.
Such a great observation! So subtle, so powerful.
What a fantastic performance. Her “as someone told me lately” with the head nod is definitely something special. Her “take a message back from meeee” Is also brilliant and refreshing. What an excellent performer.
How I feel about “and you can’t pull me down” at the end of the second verse
one of, if not the best portrayals of Elphaba the show ever saw.
You can remove "one of, if not" from the sentence and it will be spot on🙂
THE ABSOLUTE SHAME ON THIS AUDIENCE FOR NOT GIVING HER FINAL FLIGHT APPLAUSE. Every time I watch this it pisses me off. She was one the best actresses to ever play this role. People might not like her vibrato, but COME ON!! She delivered ten fold. In every aspect. And acted circles around just about anyone who played this role. (even my favorites). She deserved a standing ovation on this flight and.... Crickets. Shame on this audience.
I love hearing people compliment her acting. That's what made her such an inspiring choice. She didn't portray elphaba, se was Elphaba. It was the role she was born to play. Every choice she made added to the character. Just amazing.
8:21 Her "bring me down" is my absolute favorite version of that line.
Julia will always be my favorite Elphaba. She's just perfect!
she really inhabits every stage of elphie’s journey from the young innocent student to the older, wiser witch at the end of the show. plus her voice is unique and absolutely mesmerizing. i’m OBSESSED.
It’s sad she was sick on her final days of Wicked! One of the best Elphaba’s! 😢
Yasss Mama Murney 😍. Absolutely SPECTACULAR!! I have always loved her belt on "everyone deserves the chance to FLY" I die everytime lol. Sensational acting and her voice has sooooo much power and color! What a riveting performance and send off to finish your Broadway run!
No one else did this role quite like Julia! She'll always be my favorite
Mine too xx
This was when elphie was came from deep within a soul and shown outward.
Unrivaled, truly.
THE RASP AT THE END WOW
Well the rasp at the end was her blowing out her voice to blow off our wigs
Her last night was incredible
What Is RASP Mean ???
@@user-ld5od9qn3hA harsh sound from your voice. At the end Julia has some rasp because she was sick. 😢
@Potato-so6zr
Oh Okay THX ! 🙏🙏
Just WOW! There is NO better performance than this!
The gorgeous pepamama slaying us 😍😍😍
CHILLS 😍
Merry Christmas everyone, this video is a true gift 😍
I love her voice
kendra is also a more grounded and serious glinda than some others, less bubble-headed, which i really enjoy
Yea I love allie mauzeys energy and vocal prowess, but it makes it really hard to like glinda when she is so ditzy and shallow to the point of frustration. Kendra, Katie rose clarke, and Kristen Chenoweth all play more serious and nuanced glindas, and it makes the role more believable
What a perfect pair. I never got SJB and Kendra together. I thought S was so big and bold and Kendra way too grounded, and just not right. Julia was Kendra's partner. They both had such a grounded and 'real' take on these characters. I did not like Kendra as Glinda till I saw her (live) with Julia. Then her Glinda made sense. These two were the perfect pair and two of my favorites of all time
I definitely agree. On that note, I definitely think SJB and Annaleigh complimented each other’s performances super well. Much better than Kendra and SJBs pairing.
@@oneandonlyprecarious Lisa and Annaleigh took the cake for me. I saw Kendra with SJB, Julie Reieber, and Kerry Ellis and her Glinda paired really well with Kerry’s Elphaba I felt.
THIS!
It's funny -- I've seen Kendra a few times,.but NEVER with Julia, lol. I saw her with Eden Espinosa, Teal Wicks & Marcie Dodd, but I never got to see her and Julia on Broadway together, BUT I agree -- what a pair. 💚🖤
Iconic
This show was the best the role of Elphaba has ever been done, in my opinion
Wow, i've never seen this one before on CZcams! Amazing!
It's been posted many times over the years. I know I've watched it several times
yeah same but it keeps getting taken down for some reason lol 💀
I personally LOVE her vibrato and everything about her!
YOUAAEEEHHHHHHH
They just don't make them like this anymore 😭
Real, I’d personally fly over to the states if there’s ever a modern-day Julia playing Elphaba
Madam Morrible also delivered
Why did no one lose their minds cheering when she put the cape on for the last time like is Wicked tradition? Or the takeoff?
they probably got too awestruck by Julia
late reply but in all seriousness the 2007 audience was hella quiet especially in Saycon’s last, Caissie Levy’s last and SJB’s first idk what prompted but i’m guess their fanbases weren’t huge on Broadway yet
You uploaded this on Christmas.
No really??
@@thomas965o i thought today was Easter?? 💀
@@Broadwayriah No no it’s definitely Halloween
I thought it was valentine's day 🤔
No, it's EASTER!
EVERYONE DESERVES A chance TO FLY 😂
Lenny Wolpe is the best Wizard tbh
Merry Christmas. Do you know who the Wizard is in this performance? When I watched the whole show it was bothering me that I couldn't figure out who is was because his voice sounds so familiar to me.
hii merry xmas, the man playing The Wizard is Lenny Wolpe 😃
@@Broadwayriah yes that's him thank you! he was the Wizard in the workshop so I recognized his voice from that recording lol
The second bring me down the thing she did where she was almost threatening the citizens below her giving them the you filthy little cockroaches look and hers speaking briefly to them
1:23 *Grabs girlfriend's hand angrily*
the voice cracks absolutely ruin this!!!
She was sick during her last days on Broadway
oh now I feel bad 😭
