- Hi my friends, I have posted building knife sharpening jig video in January this year. After that I received many orders and requests. So let me to introduce you the next generation of the J&O sharpening jig which I produce. The commerecial version is availalble for you. It is much more better now, I improved the design and made a lot of tests. If you wish to order just leave the message or write me an e-mail to kadlk@seznam.cz. Thank you! My jig arrived to Dallas, TX ten days after placing an order. The quality of the jig is superb. Craftsmanship is outstanding. Put it to a test sharpening my chef knife and the results knocked my socks off. There is no way I could have achieved the same results sharpening by hand . Great tool and thank you Mr. Kadlec.

I’m skeptic. How much was it?
Got my sharpening jig roughly 2 weeks after purchasing and now use it since a few weeks and I'm happy that I bought it.
Thanks Michal for this great tool and the fast delivery
You are welcome my friend, thank you!
zatím nejlepší tip na vlastní výrobu, perfektní provedení, motivoval jste mě
You have created quite a nice sharpening jig. I'm impressed. Thank you for showing us how you created it.
I made something similar for my use about 35 years ago.. but you have made something that made me go... oh heck! why didn't I think of that way!.. well done my friend.. well done indeed
+tinkmarshino thank you very much.
Great - I especially loved the cup of coffee bit!
I am amazed you still have all your fingers!
Got it as a Christmas gift for my mum. Works super well, especially with larger knifes one achieves incredibly precise results. I recommend to start with a stretched bar and work with the stone towards the knife as you move along the edge. So basically push the stone in the direction of the knife. It is also shown in the video. This prevents the stone from being damaged by the plade as there's more control when the tip of the blade is reached. Also it is necessary to check and readjust the angle after the first stroke. Begin with a slightly larger angle then after the first stroke have a very close look at the blade and lower the angle. Repeat until it is perfect.

Got the jig delivered to Australia with no problems. Fantastic product and waaaay better than some of the more expensive sharpening jigs i have bought. I especially like the fact that you can use full size sharpening stones (just make sure you use similar thickness stones tho). Gives you fantastic razor sharp knives.
Muscle Tone
Just asking, how much did you pay for jug with shipping to Australia? Thanks.
Yer same. Price plus shipping to aus
It's a large version of the Lansky sharpener, very nice work.

Just got mine today. Wife’s making me use it for her scissors first before I can use it on my stuff. Looks beautiful, very smooth action love it.
Totally worth the wait. I think Christmas and the fact that I’m on the other side of the earth was the factors in the wait.
Hi thank you for your information, there was also many customers before the Christmas, so many shipments was little delayed.

Dear Michael
Thank you very much for yours videos. Please if its possible, show us your workstation and yours machines in a next video. I´m amanzing for the quality of yours devices.
The thing I really like about this jig is that it uses stones instead of sandpaper …👌
Hi Michal, congratulations to a fantastic Product. May I as what is the smallest angle you can adjust on your jig ? Also, which dimensions (length) of the stone fits to your jig ? Best regards from Sweden.
Hi my friend, how can I make one of those magic, coffee making boxes??? But seriously I love this video, great production quality as well as very informative. Please let me know if you ever decided to sell one of those jigs, I would love to have one and there is no way I can make one. Thank u and keep it up
Nice craftsmanship and beautiful design. I was looking for something like this because I still want to use my old stones. Do you think the stone holder would lose stability if one would build a frame for the stone which would hold the stone on the sides? So that you could just flip the stoneholder around instead of removing the stone and reattaching it for using the other side?
Nice!
Stone holder if it fails, Stone might be broken..
" But Big Thumbs Up" love your project.
Great build Sir
Good Job Dude! This Tool rocks every Knife.... ✌️
Hi michal, very nice product. Can you advise the height from the from the jig when all is mounted? Thanks
O aparelho está muito bem feito e o Sr deve ter mesmo muita confiança pois arriscou colocar o dedo bem à frente do formão (?). Com a quantidade de ferramentas que possui, mal parecia que fizesse má figura.
Hi Mate. I have sent you an e-mail. Awesome work !!
Have used your jig for several years. It's really good. I fall down on the sharpening technique - like Which stone will give me a burr? How much to use every stone? How many stones in a sharpening set?
What's the angle for sharpening scissors?
I am very interested in this jig! Do you ship to the U.S. and how much does it cost? Also, what does the jig come with? Excellent video!
Ist's a *great* piece of workmanship Michal !👌
If You're willing to listen to my advice:
If You slit the holes of the "jizzle-like"clamp- that fixates the blade/knife to the wodden block ist's easier to fixate broader blades. It would also be nice if You grind a square 40x20x10mm deep into the wodden block to hold the blade with an N52 neodym magnet the same size.
The advance of the more narrow whetstones, which originally came with Apex are just about 20mm wide, so You're able to sharpen koncave internal rounded blades like karambits or hand-scissels.
Also is a smaller wooden stone-holder-block lighter and easier to move with less weight esp. on curved knive tips =>less pressure to the edge and tip of the blade.
The quality of Your product is *way better* than the Chinese or even Lansky ones 👌👍🙋
I'd *love* if You're improving Your product to *all sizes* => width => of whetstones 20 - 100mm=> needs to slim the wooden stone-holder-block to 25mm and a carved in 60° phase into the middle of the steel stone-brackets .😉
Great video and your jig looks fabulous. I have a nice sharpening system now, but nothing quite like this. One day I hope to purchase one from you.
Hola amigo buen trabajo.q medidas tiene el afilador q fabricaste.saludos man.
Super!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Very cool design. How much for just the jig? I already have the stones that I need.
EUR 110 plus shipping
good job
Hola me gusto mucho tu video saludos cordiales. Daniel
the guy sells the jig yet never tells you how much it is or where to get it. incredible.
You get my respect - VYBORNE JE TO. It is much over my ambition. greetings :)
love it hahaha
Не ну огонь, весь сточенный металл на пол летит. Ух молодца.
Wow... 😮👍
Hi mate, what is the smallest angle that can sharpen?
جميل جدا سلمت يداك
What kind of oil do you use for the leather strop? Great job. Thanks
Do you sale the build plans?
Nice job ,earlier I got bugged from pointless noise but like your finish
Thanks and thumbs up
So i only need $2,000 worth of equipment to sharpen my $20 knife... doh !
I am kidding... enjoyed every minute of it.
More than $2000 - :-D
Michal Kadlec .. i am jealous.. but love it.
1:05 It is so dangerous to push the wood all the way through the table saw with his hands. If the wood kicks, he's losing some digits!
Good. Ty.
what's the best angle to sharpening the knife?
Hi Michal,
Nice magic coffe maker and zinc box :-)
How did you assembly the steel rod with wood part on jig holder ?
Greetings from Poland :-)!
+Bartek W hi, thank you. The stainless steel rod is glued with the special glue. Thank you and my greetings to Poland!
Thx Michal !
As I see U have a lot of nice professional machines ... if u don't mind - what is the model of your drill stand ? looks very stable ...
I'm DIY passionate and i complete my workshop and drill stand is the next purchase ... :-)
I'm sorry but I don't want to recommend that machine for the precission work, It is quite a good for woodworking, but not for metalworking. I'm sure it comes from China, the selling pricee was abour USD 500. Anyway I use it, but I'm sure I will get the stronger one for metalworking.
Please send me an e-mail, I will send you link for the dril press I have.
Your work is very beautiful, professional and professional, but can I ask you for a request? I want the name of the application that I use on your mobile phone in the size of the semicircle to determine the required degree. Thank you
January 30th, 2018 - Many questions If I still produce the jig. Yes, I still produce and send it to many countries such as USA, Canada, New Zealand, Australia, Iceland, complete Europe. For that they are intetested in - just send me an e-mail, inform me from where you are and I'll reply.
Michal Kadlec wow this device is Amazing! I really want to start sharpening my knives but I don't really know where to start as a beginner. I can't necessarily afford outright buying a full set up right now but I can probably get stuff a lot easier bit by bit. What would you recommend for a beginner? I'm just trying to get a basic idea since everyone has so much different and contradicting advice regarding knife sharpening that it's almost impossible to tell what I need and the people talking about buying a full set of Japanese stones and all that crap really aren't helping...cuz again I'm broke lol. Anyway any advice would be appreciated
Hi Michal! great videos and great handywork!
Will the jig work to sharpen a 10 to 12 inches long knives?
And if you ship to Puerto Rico?
+Francisco J Rodriguez yes you can sharpen that size knives. I can send it to you, just send me email kadlk@seznam.cz
Great!
what oil did you put on the leather block and what's that white paste?
Hydraulic oil
Very good job Michal, can you send me information on how to order one of this?
Why are the scissor angle so different?
Bonjour.
This looks so nice! I'd love too get one. Do you ship to u.s.?
Thank you for your interest in J&O sharpening jig.
the USD price is 160,00 (1000/3000 stone included),
USA shipping USD 77
Wish you to have some more sharpening stones?
Let me to recommend you 2000/5000 grit stone for USD 58 and polishing set (leather block and paste) for USD 28 - optional
Have you already your sharpening stones?
The price for the jig without the stone is USD 130.
The stones are Taidea and the paste is Tormek brand.
Delivery term about 6 weeks for USA
Paypal as well as the money bank tranfer possible.
Very nice! How much does it cost?
Hi Michal,
I'm living in France and would like to order your knife sharpener with two waterstones and leather block with paste. Please, can you tell me what is the brand (and model) of waterstones and leather paste sold with the jig ?
Thanks !
Tell me the length of the board on which the knife is attached?
Well hella bells I'd rather pay you than some wicked edge big company... look like I'll be getting a early Christmas present lol thank you sir
How can I get one of these sharpeners.
Dobrý den, systém Jig II je i k prodeji? Pokud ano, kolik tento systém vyjde a kde lze objednat. Děkuji za odpověď
Nice job, how much this sharpner??
Very Nice. I world live to but One of your super tool. How much It cost ? thanks
what knife is that?
I had heart failure at how close his hands were to that saw and the fact he is wearing a loose, long sleeved jacket around dangerous power equipment.
Verry nice jig. But what is the price in Euro or Dollars
