Lios em chaniavu Quechem allea. I am a member of the Pascua Yaqui Tribe and speak Hiaki (Yaqui/Yoeme) and I can tell you that this is such a shame! This man isn't even speaking our language and in fact sounds like he's making up some make believe language! I am VERY proud of my heritage and cultural identity. I wish that this man finds whatever peace he needs in his life so that he can come to the truth and NOT lie to people or himself! It is crazy that some people are so caught up in ways to make money and get their 15 minutes of fame, that they will go to lengths like this man has... shame on him!

My thoughts are.. He is right. I am Cherokee and I am learning Black foot because I have no one else to teach me about my heritage. The woman I choose to call my grandmother is one of the greatest Toltec Warriors a person could know. In the three years I have known her.. I have learned a great deal. It does not matter if a person can speak the language That does not make a man Indios. REMEMBER brothers and sisters Being "Indian" is in the heart. It is truly a way of love and caring for not only each other but Mother Earth. We all have different ways per our tribal cultures but we are all one in the eyes of the universe. Be well.

Chief, I do not want men to shed blood for me in rituals. If I wanted men to shed blood for me, I would have given them the menses! It is enough that men shed blood in battle. There is too much suffering in the world. Sometimes, sacrifice is necessary, but do you think that by inflicting pain on yourself, you make the world suffer less? It is time to change this belief, chief. I have never asked for your blood! Be gentle with yourself. This would add much needed gentleness to our world.

My grandmother was Mexican & Pascua Yaqui from Tucson. As a kid we used to go back to Old Pascua every Easter for the Pascolas, Maso (deer dancers) and Matachinis celebrating from morning to night. Big ass bonfires, tortillas, dancing...
I wish I knew more about my grandmothers people (my people) but living in Ca and growing up in a mostly Mexican neighborhood we lost our connection to the tribe. But I still have my vivid memories of my parents taking us with my grandmother back to Tucson every Easter.

+Anthony Sanchez ... Before you say anything about tortillas, yes... the Yaqui have comals (flat cast iron cooking surface) to cook tortillas. I remember seeing ladies making super large and very thin tortillas outdoors over large comals while at Old Pascua. This was in the 1970s and 1980s but I was always amazed at how they were exactly like the ones my mom and grandmother made in our home. To me that was awesome. It was familiarity and something simple to take in.
My mom used to make Fry Bread too but I know that's Navajo. A couple years back When Canelo fought Mayweather my mom made something called Sopes (sort of like a corn version of Fry Bread and slightly smaller), they were hella good. But I prefer straight up Fry Bread over those. :)
