Funny... I'm crying now. For some reason, hearing the "In The News" music bed just brings it all flooding back... the sad realization our generation will never, ever experience television like this again. Laugh if you will; but the 1970's were awesome.

I guess this was recorded off KDFW in Dallas judging by the WFAA promo/ID slide at the end (always with ABC). And probably off a home tape too, I assume Beta.
Funny how that globe noise sounded like music when i tried shrooms once. I didnt remember it, yet it was so pleasing to listen to it coming from nowhere yet it was EVERYWHERE!
I really do hate it when my deep dark distant past suddenly reemerges on me. & I also didn't know the Olympic ice skater Diane Denude; she became a naturalized citizen of the Netherlands. She used to be a U.S. citizen. Too bad that she didn't win a gold medal.
I hated that music or whatever you call that annoying noise in the introduction. I remember turning the volume all the way down on the TV until the show itself actually came on.

I didn't like it as a kid either -- that and the Paramount Television music at the end of Brady Bunch closing credits. I'm fine with it now.
