So the new PCB still opens the solenoid during preinfusion? It should stay closed rather than releasing all the pressure.
What's the micro-controller used on this new board?

The fix will be there in the next version. The ETA is about 2 months.

@@bookernoel6471 Have you used the Apex machine at all? The existing version is making excellent espresso. The ongoing fix is making it better.
@fee I don't doubt that, have seen many positive reviews from reliable sources, but from what I understand this issue has been pretty well documented. Just seems inappropriate to continue selling a model with a known shortcoming unless that is fully disclosed in advance.

Digital sensors and controls "aka electronics" is what tends to put kitchen machines in the donation box or into recycling. Lack of digital controls such as on the Gaggia Classic Pro or the Rancilio Silvia M allows the human to "bond" to their machine. Lack of electronics, along with quality parts is why those machines typically last a decade or more.
