- Luigi Mozzani (1869-1943) was born in Faenza, Italy to a poor family. A local baker, who played trumpet, introduced Mozzani to music. Mozzani learned the clarinet, oboe and later the guitar. His rise to fame was swift. While touring the world he took interest in guitar making. Mozzani returned to Italy in 1899 and set up his first luthier workshop. Continuing to perform concerts throughout Europe, he was introduced to the lyre-guitars or harp guitars of Friedrich Schenck in Germany and Austria. Working with local craftsman and eventually setting up a lutherie school, Mozzani, inspired by the lyre-guitar made many wonderfully innovative instruments. In 1911, an eleven year old boy named Mario Maccaferri came to apprentice under Mozzani. After many successful years at the lutherie school he went out on his own. Maccaferri became well known for his Selmer guitar, made popular by Django Reinhardt. Most of Maccaferri's concerts were performed on a Mozzani designed lyre-guitar.

Mình nghe bản này trên CZcams từ rất nhiều các guitarist khác nhưng tiếng đàn Lê Thu là truyền cảm nhất với mình.
mình có nghe của cô Chung , cô chung có tremolo mượt hơn còn cô Thu chạy dây tay trái ít phát ra âm nhiễu hơn.

If Luigi Mozzani were alive today I am quite certain he would be absolutely thrilled to see and hear this video. Everything about it is perfection! It simply can't get any better than this. The scenery is exquisite. The lighting accentuates the whites of the walls and the darkness of the shadows, the blues of the water and the scarlet lips of the goddess in the beautiful gown bathed in the glow of warm sunshine on her skin and hair as she releases wave upon wave of mesmerizing and inviting notes from her guitar with urgent speed and relentless tremolo perhaps never seen before except by the great Mozzani himself.

Dear Thu, it is very difficult not to eulogise about your performances and everything associated with them maestra. I have done that many times. Technique, interpretation, your choice of material, and presentation of both the piece you are playing and your delight - and happiness in playing it - is ALWAYS there. Yet - you have said on many occasions - that you do not like watching what you give to us, because you just see imperfections. Amazing and incomprehensible to a fan - but an understandable - indeed commendable - attitude as a musician. So HOW do you manage to show a calm and serene pleasure to the audience while you are playing perfectly to their ears while to yours - you notice only flaws in the perfection?
I ask because I was very recently watching a very gifted young guitarist - well known and admired on CZcams - who was facing the imminent prospect of examination performing a programme in concert and wanted the re-assurance of a complete run through in front of friends and supporters. The performance sounded perfect but occasionally the student showed displeasure with it. So - what is the answer? I ask because - like me - I know many of us - inspired by you - are learning the guitar. I am a beginner - no pretensions of pedigree or ability - yet I feel the same fear/inadequacy/dissatisfaction about playing in front of others. How do you deal with that?
Thank you for your kind message. The fear/stage fright is always there, people deal with it differently, all we can do is prepare well, try to be confident, taking chance of performing a lot to build experience. When you perform, you are like an actor, you are one with the music... after all , that fear and the excitement add to the beauty of performing 😊
@@Thuleguitarist Thanks for the considered advice Thu. I certainly believe it when you say the more you perform - to build up experience of it - the less hard it gets. So really it is overcoming the initial hurdle. To my mind there are 2 key issues which you identify that deal with the mental side of preparation. Try to be confident - so you carry on regardless of your “mistakes” and don’t give the game away about them in your face.
However the most helpful advice to me is “When you perform, you are like an actor, you are one with the music.” I guess at those moments you assume an identity that has nothing to do with your daily life, (Mother to 2 beautiful daughters and wife (to a very lucky man!) and is far removed from it. I can relate to that. You choose to “perform” the music that you can “lose yourself” in and let that take over your focus entirely to the extent that the performance is entirely personal to you. Obviously, you would like others to enjoy it afterwards. In your case I guess that’s pretty important, but in my case - and a lot of your fans on CZcams who are playing the guitar for their own pleasure and fulfilment - I now realise it isn’t.

Tôi rất mừng là Việt Nam có 1 thiên tài như cô, người đi biểu diễn khắp thế giới, đem lại sự hảnh diện cho người Việt.
Cám ơn cô thật nhiều, tôi đàn lại được bài này sau khi xem video này nhiều lần (có thể đàn hay hơn ngày xưa, hơn 30 năm trước tôi học lóm nó từ bạn bè) và những videos cô chỉ guitar's techniques). Tôi đã xem vài chục CZcams videos của cô và sẽ tiếp tục xem cho đến khi nào cô không post videos nữa, nhưng lúc đó tôi sẽ xem lại những videos cũ!
Vì tôi say mê tiếng đàn điêu luyện thật có "hồn" của cô, những ngón tay trái như bướm lượn giữa vườn hoa, cách đàn nhẹ nhàng khoan thai cuả tay phải, cách arrange tuyệt vời những bài hát Việt, Anh, Pháp thịnh hành ngày xưa tôi đã ở VN và đang nghe ở xứ người... của cô.
Nhất là những bộ trang phục thật đẹp cô mặc khi biểi diễn. Và cả 2 cô con gái thật dễ thương của cô đàn cũng thật điêu luyện nên chắc chắn 2 bé sẽ thành Thu Lê "Deux et Trois" :)
Vì muốn đàn lại bài này nên tôi tìm được video này và subcribed channel của cô liền sau khi xem 1 lần. Tôi cũng xem website của cô và được biết cô sắp biểu diễn ở San Jose (nơi tôi ở cách đó chỉ 22 miles) nhưng rất tiếc là tôi không thể về kịp để xem concert vì tôi đang công tác ở tiểu bang khác! Thật tiếc quá...
Chúc cô và gia đình nhiều sức khỏe, 3 mẹ con mãi xinh đẹp, sẽ đàn hay hơn nữa (dù bây giờ thì cũng đã number 1 in the world với tôi rồi) và đem lại niềm tự hào cho người Việt ở khắp 5 Châu... Cám ơn cả 3 mẹ con...

Trước 75, giới chơi guitar cỡ này gần như không có.
Đỗ Đình Phương là sư phụ về trémolo, nhưng cũng ít ai được nghe chính ông chơi. Tên ông nổi danh đến độ, các bản nhạc do ông arranged đước bán đầy đường dưới hình thức quay ronéo.
Những tay chơi khá về trémolo thường là sinh viên quốc gia âm nhạc.
Ngày nay thì lối chơi rung dây không còn là ngón nghề siêu đẳng dành riêng cho nam giới nữa. Đã có các tay chơi nữ vào hạng thượng thừa như Thu Le, Nguyễn Thị Kim Chung...
