The airhawk seat cushion could definitely help you with the long road trips. I've used it on my Versys 300 stock seat, which is pretty darn horrible in itself already, and it helps a TON.

This was almost a year ago. I’m guessing you’ve learned a lot since then.
But just in case you haven’t let me throw you a few tips.
Frog Toggs. They can be had for under 40 bucks. It’s a pant and jacket set. They will keep the rain off of you.
Also boot gaiters. They’re about 15 to 20 bucks a pair and you will absolutely destroy them over a trip of this duration, but they will keep your boots dry if used in conjunction with a suit. Wet feet suck. So does trench foot.
Gloves. You need to wear them because brother you don’t know how much you need your hands until you can’t use them.
Luggage. A set of side bags or panniers as they are usually called will help keep the weight lower as well as being more stable. It would also allow you to put whatever you have on your backpack onto the backseat where you should be using rok straps to secure bag, anchoring them and yes, you should be using two to the rear frame underneath the tail at the back and then down to the passenger pegs which will prevent the bag from moving around and also get the weight off of your shoulders. When you’re riding all day, that is a fatigue that you do not need.
On the same luggage note, a small tank bag is a godsend that you don’t appreciate until you have it. Waterproof storage for your phone camera battery pack wallet whatever have you that you can just pick up off the bike and take inside with you.
In terms of seat comfort, I see that others have recommended an air hawk. I myself have used them and had great success. But beyond that there are a few other things that you can and should be doing.
First you need to stretch every time you get off the bike which considering the three-point gallon tank on this bike is gonna be pretty often. Normally I tell people to stop every hour and a half or every hundred miles whichever comes first. And then go through a mini yoga routine. You will absolutely look like an idiot, but it will keep you riding for longer.
Second you need to watch what you’re eating and drinking when you’re on the road like this. Caffeine is a stimulant and can give you a false sense of confidence in terms of your fatigue and alertness levels which are things you need to monitor carefully when you’re doing long rides. You want to drink water and lots of it. If you don’t have to piss every time you get off the bike which again we covered how frequently that should be then you’re not drinking enough water. As far as food you want to keep it light. I love steak and potatoes, but it’s not a good food for long bike rides. You don’t want anything that’s gonna be in your stomach like a lead lead weight.
Finally, it’s all about your ass. You were wearing blue jeans. That’s a no no. Cotton is absolute shit when it comes to moisture. if you want to ride around in a cotton T-shirt, you can you shouldn’t but you can. But jeans are going to be miserable, especially when they get wet from either rain or sweat. Same things goes for your underwear. Cotton bad. You should be wearing motorcycles, specific pants and yes, underwear. Stitching matters because it equates to chaffing. Bicyclists have specific underwear that you can purchase relatively cheaply. If you are a hairy man, consider taking the old beard trimmer, pulling off the guard and shaving your ass and upper thighs and inner thighs and groin. Trust me, it helps. on that same note gold bond is your friend. Powdering your ass helps.
Also do not be ashamed to pregame with some ibuprofen. You don’t look like an old man, but from an old man to a young man, there will be no judgment. I’m gonna be riding for more than four hours I pop two ibuprofen before I get on the bike.

I'll Hit you up when I pick up my bike....what town are you from... looks like I'll have to pickup the New seat it's got an extra in of padding...they did a good job building this bike everyone says good things about it... how about you do you still have your bike and if so how many miles do you have on it??

Lmaoo yeah definitely get that new seat and I work in Middletown bro 😂😂 I live in New Haven area that’s crazy
I still have my bike it’s around 12,600 miles
Now I don’t have a lot of info still on what went wrong so I can’t say anything for sure yet but the bikes been great as you can see I rode it everyday no matter the temps it never gave up until April 17th I was riding home from Middletown getting onto I-91s and it wouldn’t go past 60mph I pulled over , cycled the ignition turned back on and took off it did the same thing so I pulled over again this time the motor was knocking
It’s been at the dealer since April 19th no word yet something definitely broke inside the motor I’m still under warranty they are just taking their time so I’m waiting on it back they still don’t know what broke…

You seem to be the person with the most miles ive seen on internet with this bike.
Im really into this bike look but unfortunately ive read some very troublesome user experiences in reddit.
What is your experience with this bike ? What issues have you had with this bike so far ? People say it has troubles with Cruise Control and Shiftin to second gear , some have weird error codes on dash , some have difficulty starting the bike and few of them oil/coolant leaks.
It would be helful to hear your experience.
    Thanks in advance.

    • @baljooter
      @baljooter  Před 4 měsíci +1

My bike has been trouble free besides the usual GEAR INDICATOR /cruise control problems
I had the dealer do the fix for both of those I didn’t really care but as I was there for my fuel gauge not working I figured why not have them fix that too
To be honest with you I never use cruise never will I don’t ride to use cruise control
The gear indicator fix seemed to have worked and it always shows the appropriate gear now
My fuel gauge stopped working on this trip and a couple people in the Facebook group have had their do the same Cfmoto warranties it
Bike always starts up and runs though no matter what any temperature any time
As of 12k miles I do have a tiny leak from my water pump not even enough to drip just enough to er the under side of case I believe to be coolant which I am bringing in this coming weekend to fix will make a video about it
Every bike will have problems and since Cfmoto is fairly new to motorcycles they might have more then other brands but overall their quality and product is up there with Japanese counterparts I had no problem hopping on the bike and riding it 1850 miles if it broke down I didn’t have enough money to tow or fix it and wait for it to be done but that was never a thought in my head it just feels like such a quality bike to me that the thought never occurred
It’s up to you if you buy it but there is a lot of deals I’ve seen where people get this bike for dirt cheap
If you are getting the bike for the feature’s like cruise control I wouldn’t kinda seems like a work in progress
Also I broke my fork seals just figured I mentioned that but Cfmoto warranties it bad roads

      @spiderthenics9462 Před 4 měsíci +1

@@baljooter That was more than I expected , thank you for your detailed reply.
I wouldn’t be using the cruise control at all I think. I live on an island in Greece. Furthest distance in city is like 8km.
That being said I want it to work properly nonetheless.
It’s the small things here and there that indicate the overall quality or experience.
Here the deals are non existent. The bike price is 7k euros and that’s it.
I think I’m gonna wait a bit longer and read more reviews from people with lots of miles so I can make a better decision.

The CFMoto optional "tall" seat is way more comfortable than stock seat. Part number: 6GU#-807100-6000, price $200.

@@baljooter The gear error where it reads 1st instead of 6th can be fixed by removing sensor, discarding copper washer and reinstalling sensor. If that doesn't solve problem, then replace sensor. It's cheap. Sensor is located by front sprocket. It has a single wire coming out of it. There's a detailed CZcams video about it by AngelosMotoCycle.
If you want to bring down the highway rpms a bit, the 700 CL-X uses the same sprockets as many Kawasaki models. I used a JT Sprockets JT478 rear sprocket with 43 teeth instead of OEM 46 teeth. That engine has plenty of torque to handle different gearing.
      Best wishes 👍

I really like the CF moto 700 clx range especially the sport, however having watch your trip I am now a little concerned at the fuel tank range. I guess the sport would also be even more uncomfortable, so really only for shorter journeys. Still even in the UK these bikes are great value especially 2nd hand 1 yr old as you still have 3 yrs warranty left and you get around £2000-£2500 off the new price, absolute bargain, they are good value new too so long as you keep them a few yrs. Not sure why you don't wear your gloves on your hands rather than around your waist? I guess it's an American thing maybe? Anyway nice video and you've given me some things to think about if I want to look at buying this model. Keep safe and try to find a better way of securing your bag ready for the next trip.
