💑 About Hercules Candy
Hercules Candy has been on Steve’s side of the family since 1910(ish). When he took over in the 70’s, he anticipated after 10 years of hard work, he could move the business out of the basement and into a real storefront. Unfortunately, it took until 2018 for that to happen, but hey at least it happened! Steve and Terry own the shop, Craig (the social media manager) is their son, Cara (wrapper and shipper extraordinaire who is poised to take over the shop one day) is their daughter and Leah (who doesn’t love being on camera and is very elusive) is their oldest daughter. Karen has been working for Hercules Candy since the twins (Craig and Cara) were about 6 months old and everybody else is a new recruit. Don’t forget to subscribe and hit the 🔔 for more videos!

I think the longer pull you can get on the brittle the better. The thin pieces are like butter in your mouth.

Pure salt is NaCl sodium chloride which is two elements together. Baking soda is sodium bicarbonate NaHCO3 which is 4 elements together. Both are naturally occurring.

The workers are the Oompa Loompas. If Kara worked at Willy Wonka's, she would be the Oompa Loompa. Kara:"I don't know how to be gentle." That's something an Oompa Loompa would say. Also, minerals are the individual chemical compounds that make up rocks. Salt is a chemical compound, so it is a mineral. "Rock salt" is an industrial term, not a scientific term.
The way it foamed was so neat. What if you didn't get rid of that by flattening it? What would the texture be?

Wouldn't it be easier to stretch if you cut each of the 4ths in half? Easier access to the center?
I think it would cool down too fast to stretch it if they cut the batch in eighths, they would need double the amount of candy makers to make that method effective. It's much easier to thin out hard candy if the center stays warm. They used to only do 3 segments even and it did fine, the only reason they started doing 4 was to make it easier to handle during the transition from the cooling table to the counter.

Cooper hasn't had his day, he looks tired 😴 and to come back on the salt there is so many different kinde of salt in the world that we can put on our food. Rock salt from the sea and mountains and grinder salt for candy and taste improvements. Don't get in too deep on it 😅
