  • I asked some of my friends, all of whom cannot speak Chinese, to say a few simple words in mandarin whilst I film them. I used the footage for another video here on my channel: • Mom & Dad Learn Chines...
And whilst everyone (seemingly) looked and sounded good in that first video, here are all the outtakes that arguably make for a much better video.
    英国人到底能不能说汉语?我让我英国哥们儿说一下特别简单的中文字。有的人说得还行,有的人说得烂透了!第二声真的是个大障碍!

Speaking Chinese is hard because of the pronunciation. You’ve got to pay attention to the tone since a wrong tone means a different word. But as far as grammar, there aren’t quite as many rules as in English or in French. No masculine or feminine forms of nouns, verbs, adverbs or adjectives. No declensions or exceptions. It’s also a succinct language as you don’t need as many words as in English to convey the same meaning. The origins of each word actually came from a symbol of the object, much like Egyptian hieroglyphics and was given a sound. However different words can have the same sound. That further adds to the difficulty level for foreigners to learn.

    中文对外国人最难的可能就是声调了,掌握好声调,中文就听起来会很地道了
