Driving into the bulk site was very ignorant, had there been a valve that suddenly failed, you could not escape if you were in the cloud ... NH3 is heavier than air, so it concentrates low to the ground and it volitizes(turns to gas) down to -40° ... Please pass this along to other chasers!
@@timnewman1172 to pickup and throw those wagons like that just lets us know the power those storms have! And you are right., .NH3 is nothing to mess around if there is containment problems. Too many ways to get hurt by that stuff. Asphyxiation, .freeze burn, caustic chemical burn, and rapid dehydration. Lungs and eyes can be permanently damaged quickly. People definitely need to stay away, and especially up wind. And fresh water is your first aid.

Looks like we will have a busy day Tuesday as they have already gave a moderate risk and we're 4 days out so I'm guessing it will get to high risk by Tuesday morning or it can change but all models show there will be very strong instability in eastern Iowa again all of Missouri,Illinois,and northern Arkansas

@kwiksand12, when they come upon the storm, what you see is the wall cloud, and just under that you will see a funnel..we lose view behind the hill( can't help land lay) but when they crest, you see dust start to kick up as the funnel touches down, and the tornado is a wedge shaped funnel coming from its spawning spot in the wall cloud. Beautiful but often deadly.

Go back to around 1 minute he crosses the double yellow line on a curve multiples times while talking about a camera... 7 - 8 minutes crosses a double yellow line.. and NO driving across power lines is not safe. Even the female in the car is concerned with the driving at one point..

The "female in the car" was only concerned about him driving over the power lines. The only real danger of driving over power lines is that you might snag a wire on your undercarriage and either pull other poles down or get wrapped up in them (in which case DON'T exit your car!!!). But those were flat on the ground and nothing to "snag" - like driving over a hose. Honestly... most times **I'M** the one screaming at chasers for being unsafe and acting like traffic laws don't apply to them. But this just isn't one of those times.
You could probably take some still shots from that circular cloud forming ahead of you, where you see a house or business that you're approaching, and sell those photos to those homeowners and businesses. Put that money towards your daughter's education.
While it’s amazing to see what Mother Nature can do, you chasers marvel at the destruction created by a tornado. The destruction that has likely ruined people’s lives. You pulled into that farmhouse but didn’t get out of the car to check to see if everyone was okay in that house? You had a great opportunity to set an example for your daughter but it likely never crossed your mind. You must also chase and look for train wrecks too…
There was no farm house there. It was a couple of buildings. No vehicles were around to indicate people were working there. There was leaking anhydrous tanks, and downed powerlines. There was also another storm coming with high winds, and large hail. I think it was best to get out of there.
@@TornadoCrewStormChasers Actually ( and I am saying this cause I watched the video the week it happened) But there is a farm house on your left right before you came towards that chevy with its hazards on in your lane. It was I believe his grandparents house that was hit ( that was a storm chaser that turned around and had the man in the black car with him taking him back to the farm house to rescue his family). They were all thankfully ok, including the dogs)
@Leah Godlien there was a police officer behind me. I told him to follow me back where I was initially set up watching the storm to develop. The other farm was just buildings and there was no cars or trucks there.
I believe the first farm on the left, in the video clip, used to be my ex-wife's aunt and uncle's farm. I hunted whitetail and pheasant there many times.

That wasn't a farmstead. Hog or chicken barns with downed feed bins.
There was no one there, downed powerlines, and leaking anhydrous tanks. This was not a homestead.
