"see so many people come and go. see the mirror its only me" - Through Chan's 7years trainee seeing people debut/get cut and he was still there.
"i know its gonna be lonely cos everyone keeps turning me down" Chan's journey of being told he isn't ready (rejection) but keeping him on

Here are a couple of things you need to know:
1- Yes it's mostly in English, only Changbin and Han's lyrics were in Japanese. But in general it's considered one of their Japanese releases since it's a part of a Japanese EP.
2- Lisa (original name: Risa Oribe) is a super star in Japan whom stray kids looked up to. She's known for creating iconic anime OSTs of some of the most famous animes. She has over 2 million subs on youtube.
3- Chan said the song is based on his life experience:
👉"gave up my youth for my future": he had to go through a whole 7 year training only to debut
👉"i know it's gon be lonley cuz everyone keeps turning me down" + "never knew i'd see so many people come and go" chan literally said in an interview that the hardest part about that long period is seeing people come and go, friendships start and end..
👉"the voices in my head again" that tough period caused chan to think about quitting many times
👉"alien of the town, they want me to give up right now" skz music was different to mainstream kpop so many haters kept trying to put them down by calling it "noise music"
👉"you only live one life, i know i'm ready to take that chance no matter what they tell me...(the whole chorus)" it's a reassuring statment that we accept who we are and we're ready to take on that path and excel at it.

Just thought I would share: - STAY Aiana shared some interesting thoughts on the "paper bag heads": If you pay attention to the lyrics ("I'm tossing, turning in my bed. The voices in my head again"; "Evil thoughts taking over, I'm let it go"), you'll see that, even though the paper bag people can be the ones on the internet, being judgmental and aggressive or something like that. It's more possible than not, that these "people" are actually their intrusive thoughts saying they're not good enough. Since these lyrics is heavily based on Chan's experience as a trainee for 7-8 years, so LiSA could represents someone way more seasoned that has passed through it all already and not only survived, but thrived.
- So let's go to the signs: (the ones I saw):
- ❗. Ideas, creativity (but on an overwhelmingly level)
- ❓. Doubts and not believing in yourself
- ➕. Trying to see the bright light and staying positive.
- ➖. All the depressive and negative thoughts, wanting to give up.
Throughout the MV, Chan is the one that is constantly chased, suffocated & being captive by the creatures. The other ones are haunted by them, but none as heavily as him. At the end we see Lee Know, Changbin leading the others, all fighting the bad paper bag creatures (evil thoughts), tearing through the wall, before they finally reunited. This could represents how Stray Kids (the members) saved Chan. Always together. I am always impressed by word play in lyrics and they are using visual imageries to do the same. As we all know that Chan has fought hard to keep his members safe and together, time and time again, even taking hits himself but we see how they equally would charge in to save and protect him also.

I enjoyed your reactions and agree the musical range of this group is outstanding from the beautiful falsettos, spine-tingling bass tones, rough/smooth rap, strong clear clean all round musical quality of these artists in whatever genre they happen to be singing in at the moment. I have been impressed with the anime queen LiSA vocals since the Sword Art Online series and I love Demon Slayer.. Just seeing the sets (amazing) and LiSA singing on that beautifully made pedestal was awesome, the color she brought into the song... The back-to-back singing with LiSA then Felix (awesome).. the choreo, the acting, edits, storyline, .. the MV was just made right. Chan has spoken on just how much having LiSA joining in meant to them and his sharing of his personal experience and his anime beats...🌟
