Cool music for the soul and very popular amongst strummers like me to hear perchance to play-almost what the common people enjoy best I'll venture.
    Thank you for spreading joy!

It just takes practice and determination - like most anything else worth learning. Once you get it - it's a blast to play. I'm not a natural musician at all - Ive had to work my ass off at this. I don't play full time - it's a hobby. The guys that play for a living and perform every night are unreal. I'm going to post some lessons for beginners pretty soon - start at the beginning and work your way up - otherwise it's pretty intimidating.

Like the way you show the chords first. Makes it so much easier to follow fingerstyle playing. Keep em coming.

Thank you for doing this, I've always liked this song. First version I heard was Hot Tuna's

Thanks! Since everything is based on the chords, it's easier for me to learn songs this way too. Once you know the chords, the picking will fall into place.

@BeforeTheSkyFalls Sorry it took me so long. The secret to the F part is to is getting the melody in your head. It's a little different in every version I've heard by Gary Davis or anyone else. IF you still need help, let me know and I'll post a short amendment to the lesson to help you with that part. Due to family issues, I've been unable to create new videos for a long time. I'm getting back into it this fall. Thanks for your interest!

    Good video.
I thinks it's easier to describe special or non-intuitive chords you're using like this:
(for example:) 'X33210' (for FMaj7) or '332333' (for C9). It's very compact; people can write it down quickly and get the information perfectly the first time, ... instead of them trying to scribble down some notation of your descriptions of which finger is on which fret of which string.
It's very information dense and allows people to write down new chords.
    Just my $0.02.

Give me an example of a part that needs "more breaking down." You might want to buy a copy of Steffan Grossman's beginning level video on playing fingerstyle country blues. He does a good job of getting you going with the alternating bass - which where I'm assuming you are having trouble.

I am searching through all 5 of your videos on this and cannot find where you play the song all the way through. Please advise.

Hi. Thanks for this great lesson. I see its a long time since anyone posted about the video, but Im going to ask my question anyway in the hopes someone is still out there. I'm having trouble figuring out the sequence when you get to the F chord. I got the hammer on and the sixth string base note. I understand the alternating base and the melody on the B string but I can't figure out how you're synchronizing the alternating base with the B string melody. Can anyone help?

I did an extra video to help out with this part - search for Hesitation Blues F Chord Part. If this doesn't help let me know. thanks!
