There either IS climate change happening (there always has been, but not on a global scale, and never measurably so, and not over such a short timescale) and we're getting hotter summers (when it is actually hot, which if you think about it, we almost never have had consistently hot summers, ever), or, apparently, cooler summers as you say. So which is it? If there IS climate change happening right now - there is SO much evidence it is beyond dispute - is it giving the UK hotter weather or cooler? If it was stinkingly hot every day you'd be putting it down to secret government experiments with 'chemtrails' amongst other things. If cooler, cloudier weather that is also secret experiments. Which is it, and where do you get your oh-so reliable information from? Remember, just because you believe or think (and that's a long shot, actual thinking) something is true does not make it so. Spend more time looking for actual, verifiable information and research, and less on conspiracy bullshit. Just look at how contradictory the multiple 'sources' for every sort of conspiracy are, then grow up and start believing in things because they are real ffs!

It's fairly straight forward the temperature profile changes until the atmosphere becomes unstable, and air masses start to rise, forming clouds as they go.
Dew formed overnight is water vapour that has condensed as air temperature falls. It is then evaporated goes up in a thermal until it cools enough to condense back into water and a cloud. The ground is pretty damp this year. Ask a glider pilot how he identifies where thermals are.
It's the same in tropical areas where they have thunderstorms every afternoon.

An article on the BBC said that we'd had a cooler and wetter June than usual, before explaining that June was wetter than usual because it had been warmer than usual... It’s probably because it’s been really humid recently. Been the same in Europe too but we’ve got a lot of the cloud so haven’t got the heat that Europe has had. If you get a hot humid day, then the sky is a hazy white, because of all the water in the atmosphere. Yes if it wasn’t humid it would probably be blue sky but that’s simply weather. We have mid height clouds and low-level cloud all going on at the same time. In all my years I have never seen anything like it and I can remember back sixty years. The other thing I have always taken notice of weather, like holidays, times with the family and picnics out in the countryside. @paulcarfoot4490 Před měsícem

Hi Geoff, great content. 'But what's going on with the weather?' I have studied meteorology since I was a boy. The main reason why this summer is so unsettled is the position of the Jet stream, almost all this summer it has been running well to the south of the British Isles, thus we are on the cold side of it. This is the sort of weather Iceland normally gets in the summer, rain and more rain, though we are not as cold (some people may differ lol) as our island is much further south and our summer sun when it does shine is stronger. This morning we had a beautiful clear sunny start, however a small low to the south west of the UK was approaching SW England, its accompanying fronts pushing high cloud ahead of it soon saw the sky turning milky white, that's high cirrus clouds, this was quickly followed by a thicker later of Altostratus and it eventually started rain here in the the midlands around 1pm. Typical of this summer so far. Regards the conspiracy of spraying poison in to the atmosphere, that would be lunacy as they would be shi*** on their own door step. Yes cloud seeding has been going on and off since the 50's by spraying silver iodide or dry ice in to cumulus clouds (Silver Iodide debatable as to it being harmful to environment or heath as small amounts used, dry ice would be safe) Some say the Great flood in Linton and Lynmouth 1952 was a result of a cloud seeding experiment, never been admitted though. regards Paul.

There is a polar vortex at the moment it happens every now and then. This pushes the jet stream further south so the U.K. is to the north. This allows the low pressure systems that would normally pass well to the north of us to pass across the country. The highs that come across have also been higher than usual, meaning that, as high pressure is clockwise, it brings winds from the north meaning lower temperatures even though it’s sunny.
By the way it’s been a lovely dry sunny weekend here in East Sussex, dinner on the deck and far more sun than cloud. Maybe you need to move from Worcestershireshire. Cheers Geoff.
