Sir, could you please explain what happens if there are 64 total players and the first 10 seeded players get a bye to the second round, with no byes given in any other round except the first?

In knockout tournaments, when the total number of players is a power of 2 (e.g., 2, 4, 8, 16, 32, 64, 128), the tournament proceeds smoothly without any byes.
However, if the total number of players is not a power of 2, then only byes are given to some players to balance the rounds and ensure fair progression.
So in this case the total no. of players are 64, so no bye will be given.
I hope this makes it clear! 🙂

In a knockout tournament, each match eliminates one team until only one winner remains. Therefore, if there are N teams, (N-1) teams must lose, resulting in (N-1) matches being played.
