  • A quick drive through Victoria Falls town in Zimbabwe
    Short and simple video. I drive through Victoria Falls town in Zimbabwe. Starting from the "top" of town where you enter via the A8 all the way to the parking lot of the Victoria Falls. I show you all the places you'll need if you are travelling to this little village.

    You have a great channel. Look forward to learning about more Africa cities in the future. I was in Vic Falls town in Feb 2024. It's certainly not cheap. Everything including the ATMs is in US Dollars. My tips:
    1) Buy the old multi-billion dollar notes from the street hawkers. On-target price for haggling is no more than USD1 for any billion+ dollar notes. Disregard anything less. They make great little gifts and talking points when you get home so be sure to stock up.
    2) Best place for daytime food is surely the Lookout Cafe. Sensational location. You can safely walk it from the CBD. Go for breakfast as lunch is often fully booked. Evening Meal - Three Monkeys. Beers and live music - The River Brewing Company.
    3) I'm not qualified to say more, other than personally I preferred Livingstone/Zambia for my falls experience.

      @tarrysmile Před 2 měsíci

      A) Did you go for a dinner sunset cruise? Or jut sunset cruise? B) activities, do you book overseas or when you get there? C) walking, do you "safely" walk around the town? Do i need to hire a car

    • @alexf7377
      @alexf7377 Před 2 měsíci +1

      @@tarrysmile A) Dinner (or at least food) and open bar is the norm, I'm pretty sure. B) Activities can all be researched and arranged locally. C) Walking around Vic Falls Town is absolutely fine in the daytime, after dark in any poorly lit area - not advised due to all manner of wildlife that could at the very least give you a shock! Car hire is certainly not the norm.

    One of my all time favorite towns... Think I need to go back again December for the annual Jameson All White Party, what a hippy experience it is!!! But the drive from Gobabis to there is tiring, especially with those pig-headed Botswana traffic police

    Great video. It shows you the whole town. It's very small. You can walk it in less than a hour. It's kind of boring and super overpriced. Bring lots of small bills. Everyone will lie and say they have no change. Go for a weekend to see vic falls, rafting or bungee and you'll be good. Always be careful with taxis overcharging. Don't pay more than $5USD per ride. Locals pay $2USD, but unfortunately because you are a tourist you are forced to pay tourist prices. Don't make eye contact with those selling things in the street. According to locals they steal the things they are trying to sell on the street corner. That's why they can only carry 2 or 3 items. They will chase you for blocks to convince you to buy something and even follow you into other businesses. If they see they can't get you to buy, then they will say can you buy them food. This gimmick happens in all these African countries near by.
