7mm Rem Mag is a VERY popular hunting cartridge, and for good reasons! With this cartridge you get more velocity compared to 300 Win Mag, and less recoil as well. With enough power to stop almost any game animal in North America, it's hard to go wrong with this powerful "platform". In this video, we'll build on the previous video in this series by looking at two popular IMR Enduron powders for this cartridge.

7mm Rem Mag is my default hunting go-to. I live in Namibia, south western Africa. It suits most of our plains game and I have not had any issues getting well performing loads when reloading.

7mm Magnum, one of the best all around hunting rifles you can buy.

As an old anachronism, I remember the introduction of the Remington 7mm Mag, around 1962. At that time Remington was "owned" by DuPont. Factory cartridges were loaded with DuPont's 7828 powder which was not available to the public. Handloaders were frustrated in trying to find a suitable powder for this new cartridge. Eventually 7828 was offered to the public in cannister form. I also like this powder for the 270 Wby and the 25-06. Since I have a nice supply of 7828 I won't likely try any new powders for some time. Thanks for the video.

As most here know, there has been a terrific shortage of the normally used powders for many cartridges. I did stumble upon a couple of pounds each of IMR7977 & IMR8133. Boy, I'm glad I did. The 7977 delivered over 3300 fps with 140gr Nosler SB from my 7mm Remington & 3460 fps with 180 gr GMX from my .30-378, both without excess pressure and amazing accuracy. Give them a try.

I also had a ruger #1 in 7 mag, years ago in high school. Loved it!

2 of my favorite powders for hunting is 4451 for Creedmoor and 4166 for 22-250... They've been extremely consistent for me with really good numbers and they tend to be in stock a little more often then other powders in the same class... Great video as always keepem coming brother!!!

Sorry to say been loading my heavy steel BLR in 7mm Rem Mag for gotta be what, 30 almost 40 years now with H4831 cause "like a fool" when one of my favorite local reloading gun shops decided to go out of business, I bought their existing supply of that powder "for a rainy day" :) Turned out to be one of my best 'investments' ever too :)

I used to load 175 Partion with Norma MRP and Magnum primers. At almost 3000 f/s with no signs of pressure! Very accurate! Exited to try your recipes!

I used a lot of H-870 powder in my 7mm Mag with 160gr bullets accuracy was superb. After that powder was ceased I went to US 869 and worked really well with the same 160 gr bullet. Only about 80 fps difference in velocity but 3200 fps with a 160 gr bullet is no slouch.

I don't have the spec's with me, but I use H4831SC and have a VERY accurate load. Extremely happy with it.

I’m using reloder 26 with a 162 eld-x and I am completely sold on that combo. I’m getting crazy fast velocity and excellent accuracy and have gotten excellent results out of 2 separate rifles. I’m not even loading all the way up to maximum charge, although close to max, but still getting crazy fast velocity out of my rifles which both have 26” barrels. The only powder I’ve personally used that shot faster than reloder 26 was retumbo, but the accuracy just wasn’t there for either of my rifles or my buddies rifle with the retumbo. Enjoyed the video. That imr 8133 looks like it’s just about right for 7 mag too.

Loving this 8133 for my 7mm. It’s powering Barnes 145 LRX for me and it’s accurate and quick. The eldx was very disappointing for me and my buddies last year with it fragmenting and losing some deer and elk last year. We have all switched to Barnes and nosler accubonds and partitions. Saskatchewan deer are tough. Lol

Great video! I load nosler accubond 160 grain .284 with Imr 4350 powder and federal 215 primers for my big game hunting load! I'm able to obtain 3050 fps out of a 24 inch barrel and group 1/2 inch at 100 yards!

I use RL26 and Hornady 139 grain GMX out of my Ruger M77 MKII with amazing results on deer and hogs. Great video

I have the same Ruger no 1 as Guy. Mine is strictly used for smaller Texas deer and hogs (not so small). I use h4350 and 139 SST for the consistency. You don’t get near the velocity with h4350 but oh the accuracy. I loved the video and thank you both for the work!

My favorite 7 mag load was combined technology gold partition 160gr with Reloader22 behind it. I can't remember the grains though. Currently shooting the new Barnes LRX 139gr with Reloader22. All of these leads I've used either federal large mag rifle primers or CCI large mag rifle primers. I've tried other powders but my old ruger likes the Reloader22. Another great video. I might have to give these IMR powders a try.
