Thanks for taking the time to talk with my Dad! He’s a legend out there and eats, sleeps, and breathes the dunes. I’m the son with the LT250 he mentions at the end that doesn’t ride anymore.

Your 450 has had some things done for sure! Acted very light and efficient geometry. Besides gated hard.
The 500 has a Dg pipe and a stock swingarm. I don’t care what’s been done to the motor it’s maybe 60hp on a cool day with that pipe. I ran one for years great play pipe. Also ran all the others.
As far as his statement about DRQ copying Jerry Hall doubtful. Both are good guys to the 500 world. However I had many long conversations with the good Doctor let’s say 20 years ago. He was spot on about many ,many things. As far as the 87 big reed statement from the gentleman in the video , it used to put out a few more ponies than a 88 or newer until v force opened the door. Hee hee. Btw I had a Trx 250r with a Polaris cylinder, 5mm crank and a yz490 piston that would take down a basic 4mm cub. It ran neck n neck with my 500 but the 500 fit me better.

There is no way that LT500r is making 75hp without a big volume left hanging pipes
Cool interview. The Reverse shock you asked about is on the first 2 generations of the LT250, 3rd gen did away with that. That’s a decent running Zilla but 75hp is pretty optimistic. Hoping to be out there in March again.

Didn’t seem like 75hp
Not making 75 hp with a fmf pipe.
I have not lost a race on my Zilla yet. So far Banshee with pipes, stock Trx450er, and modded yfz450. This was on a dry lake bed. Mine has been ported by Trinity, O ring head and 39mm PWK.
Mine and my buddy’s bike was built by Racers Edge. Mine was an 05 TRX 450. And his was a banshee bored out to a 4mill. My bike dyno’d at 61 and his at 90. I don’t know if it’s a 2 stroke thing. But up the hill or down the drag. Our bikes were dead even
That’s a 55hp max build, has a right hand bend stock style pipe, also those paddles suck for hills

Great race but I can promise that zilla is not making 75hp on no dyno with a fmf, that thing is stock if it's got a fmf killer content anyways

National porting is old skool .he needs DR Q HRD, Jerry HALL,Todd witz or Michael Steiner porting
The Suzuki is running ITP sand star back tires which are some of the worst, your better off with dirt tires. He should get 8 cup haulers and it will be much better for the dunes
I had an LT500 for year and ut put 52bhp to the wheels, nowhere near 75bhp. Also, I owned a Honda CR500 with lots of work done and that only put 57.8bhp to the back wheel.
He had dune sliders on his bike. Were you running 10 paddle haulers?
Those sliders are so much more fun but they hurt you in the hills

No Suzuki 500 CC motor out there makes 75 horsepower. That bike is maybe 53 horsepower

Would be. Jeff builds fast stuff. This builds quicker than the racers edge AZ stock bore stock stroke.
Jeff’s usually make 60-63hp on the dyno, and run well. Setup is everything too, tire and gearing can make up for a lot of hp! Lol

Lmao this dude was mad. That 450 making what 60hp since they make 50 stock. that 500 maybe at 45 or 50 ... from what i see those suzuki 500 is nowhere near a cr/kx500 motor .. must have made a huge design flaw in the engines i heard they only make 40hp
