New Figure...The last Dragon of Daenerys, Drogon *late upload due to slow internet.. Instagram : / clay_surgeon Facebook : / claysurgeon #gameofthrones #Drogon #polymerclay
I absolutely love this tutorial, this is the best one, and most clear to follow along I’ve seen yet. If I could make one request for a future tutorial (actually beg!) would be for baby drogon, verserion and Rheagal. There are no baby dragon tutorials that are not very cutesy looking. I would be forever in your debt if you made just one baby drogon that could be adapted in colours. There are so many projects people could do with them and I have big plans if you did one. Great work as always!!!
I cant believe that you go 2 all the trouble 2 create all the individual spikes, teeth, membranes, n things. All that beautiful detail, only 2 leave the fingers of the wings, a smushed on lookin, knukleless, rolled bit of clay
Wow ,just astounding ,I can see so much passion in this build .Probably your best creation so far ,if not ,best of this year .Cheers to a tragic end ,to a great show .
Awesome!! Would it be possible for you to list the type of clay you use in the description? Sculpey premo? III? Soufflé? Fimo? Just curious as to what you use. Thanks!
This is absolutely incredible! You’re incredibly talented! I do a lot of polymer clay work as well & just tried to conquer my 1st dragon but couldn’t get the wings figured out. This video just solved my dilemma! Thank you!! Do you sale yours ?
Wow, incredible work!! I love this tutorial. I don't know how you manage to stay in frame so well. Perfect !! What kind and size armature wire do you use?
that CosClay is great for Dragons can bend'em move the wings, very flexible try it Clay Surgeon, for how cool ur Dragons are totally worth it. you Pre-Bake Ur sculptor or just go with it all the way till it's completely Done?
absoltly amazing! i hope you dont mind me asking, but how is it that you attach such small spikes to the face without deforming them? just a gentle touch?lol thankyou!!
Thanks. That would depend on the property of the clay. If the clay is too soft then handling small details will be difficult and will just end up on deforming it. So you need to precondition the clay properly.
Hi Chris, the polymer clay that I'm using comes in different colors. Usually, I just mixed these colored clays to get the desired color. In baking, I set it at 20 minutes(depends on the brand) and I always pre-bake my figures multiple times as it's easier to sculpt when the other parts are already hardened.
Hi Dan, I pre bake my figures at least 5 times along the process. I actauly have a video about it: czcams.com/video/TdCovbpOouI/video.html. And don't use bake and bond.
@@ClaySurgeon you should definitely do basic sculpting course I am just too addicted to your channel And I am just in aww of how small your work is given the LEVEL of details Peace ✌🏻
I baked this upside down. I used a metal third hand tool to hold the wires on its feet up. This way the figure is floating and is not contacting to any surface.
@@ClaySurgeon Thank you! I was planning on upgrading my current tools (starting wear down quite a bit) and was wondering if you had any recommendations. By the way you have amazing skill, I love the sculpture :)
i love how a 2:43, the dramatic music starts back up when you show all the little spikes you have to add🤣
Hahaha I did not even noticed it while I was editing 😆
i came back to this and its just stunning how acurate and detailed u create this masterpiece!
You will like it more when you diy!
With every step, just when I thought it couldn’t possibly get any more detailed, you went and did it. Wow. Well done.

I just found this channel and this video is AMAZING. Time to binge your entire channel I guess.

Hahaha that's always my problem. When I'm on the fibal parts of the figure(like the feet) I tend to rush the sculpting and quality goes down hahaha.
I have no words
really amazing 🤩
This is a masterpiece, i love this Wyvern
This is just amazing. Great video. Great channel. Keep up the fabulous content
Великолепно!!! Безумно красиво!👍👍👍👍
El nivel de detalle es impresionante!!!

Beautiful work.
Wouuuu From Argentinaaaa 🇦🇷🇦🇷🇦🇷😍😍😍😍😍👏👏👏👏👏
So cool it looks, like real
Fantastic! My wife just wishes could watch it in real-time.
It took me more than two weeks to sculpt this, so watching it in realtime will be very boring 😂
Felicidades es fantastico. UN saludo desde España
Ang galing!!
Thank you so much for this tutorial, I will try it but just toothless from how to train your dragon

This is absolutely incredible! You’re incredibly talented! I do a lot of polymer clay work as well & just tried to conquer my 1st dragon but couldn’t get the wings figured out. This video just solved my dilemma! Thank you!!
Do you sale yours ?
Also , I saw the comment about the wire gauge . I had the same question. If you look on the wire roll it should have a mm. I would love to know!!
😱😱😍
Wow, incredible work!! I love this tutorial. I don't know how you manage to stay in frame so well. Perfect !! What kind and size armature wire do you use?
I'm using copper wire though I do not know the gauge of the wire.

You should do a dragon from the house of dragon
😍😍
Questions:
What material and colours did you use?
How long and when did you bake it for?
Hi Chris, the polymer clay that I'm using comes in different colors. Usually, I just mixed these colored clays to get the desired color. In baking, I set it at 20 minutes(depends on the brand) and I always pre-bake my figures multiple times as it's easier to sculpt when the other parts are already hardened.
Beautiful! Is this bake-able clay? Or air hardening?
This is oven baked
Super cool!!! Did you do all the forming in one go and then bake, or did you do bakes in stages, while you added to it?
Hi Janet, I bake in stages.
@@ClaySurgeonthanx to share your experience 👍
Wow! Oh nice I was kinda early :D
Thank you for the heart, here’s one from me :) ❤️
Poderia fazer o Godzilla de 1950? É muito interessante!!
How many bakes did it get during the build? Didn’t look like you used bond and bake at all, did you?
Hi Dan, I pre bake my figures at least 5 times along the process. I actauly have a video about it: czcams.com/video/TdCovbpOouI/video.html. And don't use bake and bond.
what tool did u use for putting the teeth on?
Its just a sewing needle with magnets attached to a small metal rod just to add some reach.
@@ClaySurgeon ok thx! I made a clay dragon head yesterday, still drying. :) you did good.
Hi! Amazing job man! What brand of clay you use!??
I use Mont Marte Polymer Clay
@@ClaySurgeon thanks!
question, do you sell your miniatures or you keep them? :)
I keep it for my own pleasure😊
Do you bake it in one go? Or do you bake it as soon as you finished a part? Thanks!
No I prebake it multiple times as it's easier to sculpt with the other parts already hardened.
@@ClaySurgeonhow to attached parts with (any type of glue? )
Next one could u make maybe a wings of fire dragon? I would like a hivewing or seawing
Ice Dragon from game of thrones
Try doing Rhaegal danys other dragon
How does he not crush it with his own pressure from the molding
How do you seamlessly just stick it to the surface ? And also do you bake after you finish
I do multiple baking along the sculpting process. Baking is like saving your sculpting progress.
@@ClaySurgeon you should definitely do basic sculpting course
I am just too addicted to your channel
And I am just in aww of how small your work is given the LEVEL of details
Peace ✌🏻
Try nergigante from monster hunter bruhhhh!! Your works are so damn great
Sir, do you pre bake some parts before adding other parts?
Yes, I do pre-bake my figures as it is more convinient.😀
@@ClaySurgeon thank you! :)
And subscribed. How did you bake this without hurting it?
I baked this upside down. I used a metal third hand tool to hold the wires on its feet up. This way the figure is floating and is not contacting to any surface.
Awesome!!! Any chance you can show us that?
It's similar to this amazon.com/EURO-G04-568-Superior-Quality-Weighted/dp/B0058EDI3O
Holy cow, I want it . Ty

Do you use FIMO clay? If you use,do you use soft, professional or classic?
If you don't use, what clay do you use??
Hi Ivana, I the brand that I use is Mont Marte.
Thanks you very much!!
It's looking very good but it's hard to make it
Try Xeno'Jiiva
Do you bake the clay as you go?
Yes I do multiple baking along the process.
In the head of drogon(the dragon) like the beard of his head should be black not grey but i still like it
Plastelin🤖
Do you happen to know the brand of the tools you use? Or where you can get them?
They are just the generic ones. I usually see them in School supply shops on the crafting section.
@@ClaySurgeon Thank you! I was planning on upgrading my current tools (starting wear down quite a bit) and was wondering if you had any recommendations. By the way you have amazing skill, I love the sculpture :)
You can actually see some rusting on my tools. The only tools that didn't rust are the needle and the crochet hook.
It is so claer to follow and it is you most be so hard werking
do the small parts come off after hardening it?
If it's attached properly it wont' come off.
@@ClaySurgeon cool. Thanks
What tool did you used to join the wing wires to the mainframe?
I just soldered the wires for the wings, using soldering iron and lead.
@@ClaySurgeon I'm guessing hot glue gun won't do it.. 😬
I'm not sure if hot glue can hold metals together(maybe super glue) another concern will be the added volume by the hot glue.
thanks! I went out to get a soldering irong :) @@ClaySurgeon
Great! Just be careful when using it.🙂
I want this dragon for my tempered glass panel pc🥺
Love it but a little too short neck
