I like the interaction between Jin and Xiaoyu in Tekken 8. It give a idea and glimpse of how kind and nice jin used to be before vengeance and his devil linage awaken in him starting from his tekken 3 debut. Before that he was just a nice highschool boy that xiaoyu have a crush and love on. Tekken 8 also show xiaoyu growing up into a more womanly adult and make the shipping for the two become stronger.
He always been like that in fact it reason some of his actions, just gone thru crap. Heihachi is actully kind of the same, he is not that pure evil inside and he gone thru crap too which we see in tekken 7
I am surprised they allowed Xiaoyu to mature after all these years because most of her endings back then were gag endings and she never struck me as one to be taken seriously. To be honest, I am glad her and others like Hworang get their time to shine in this game. If there is a story expansion like mk11 and guilty gear strive, I hope they find a way to give the other characters more limelight.
Has anyone also noticed that not only does kazuya resemble Vegeta but Jun has a relationship with him like how bulma does with Vegeta, him being so cold and heartless but somehow he has a soft spot for bulma like how Kazuya does for Jun, so Jin is basically Trunks if he lived up to vegeta’s power 😂

If theres a dlc story, i imagine it would be Reina taking over the Zaibatsu and possibly even Gcorp since Kazuya is knocked out and in the middle of nowhere. Then Reina enlists a cast of bodyguards and liutenants (the coming and missing characters like Eddy, Miguel, etc) and may go after Kazuya as revenge for Heihachi and may also give Jin a join me or die with Kazuya speech. Ofcourse Jin now is enlightened would refuse and would try to stop Reina or atleast reason with her. Kazuya now on a redemption arc with Jun but i dont think he'd go full good but instead revised his power is everything mentality into power to protect Jun and himself.
The reason why Jin must deal with Miguel was because of what he did during Tekken 6: To declare war on Earth in order to unleashed Azazel and destroy him. What Jin did to Miguel was that the war killed Miguel's sister and blamed Jin for it.
Kazuya is the only presented Mishima that didn't get a redemption arc and his arc can explore more of the Mishimas true origins and his inner thoughts. Knowing Reina's ending in end credits, she hints of getting her revenge on Kazuya.... but she doesn't know the whole truth of how this entire fued started and what hell her brother went through all these years.
All the more reason to add story expansion, instead of making Tekken 9. Only two loose ends are left, the war is over and everyone has moved on with their lives. Practically, Tekken 8 would be the final Tekken game in terms of story, as there are no more stories left to tell.
I think that Reina might be like Melina and was artificially created when hibachi was trying to research the devil Gene in combination with ogres blood to achieve immortality or at least get back his black hair
There was one thing that kinda bothered me, where was Yoshimitsu and Bryan Fury during All Out Assault? Nearly everyone was there, even Hwoarang who we saw just a glimpse of him with everybody else before the attack. But Yoshi and Bryan were nowhere to be seen
If you look at those shoes, it's Jun. Then in Jun's arcade ending, she is sitting in a clearing with a tent in the back. She also has a G-Corp blanket on her. She rescued Kazuya. He's in the tent.
Since this year is the 30th Anniversary of the game, I did see a cutscenes that was cut out, hopefully they will do a DLC story, rather than waiting for the next game.
I think it would be kinda interesting if in Tekken 9, Reina is the antagonist and Asuka is the protagonist tasked with cleansing her Devil Gene, maybe even getting training from Jun.

Red Oni Blue Oni Theory. Azazel is the progenitor, Japan has the Red Oni and Blue Oni like what Kaz and Jin represent, but Jin in the end was golden thanks to his Kazama blood and became Angel Jin. So who's the new Red Oni? Its going to be Reina. Also Harada confirms that Heihachi was sleeping with other women who knows what bloodline he's spread through out his years might not just be Reina.
I think Jin and Xiaoyu randomly being in the desert on route 331 has to play into the dlc story. Narratively it works. Jin is living life, being happy, but it’s also is such a random location. Plus, it looks like Xiao is explaining something to him.

I predicted alot of stuff that came true tekken despite Reina becoming a character and sister to Kazuya, From Heihachi's mortal death by his eldest son's hands, Jin winning but sparring Kazuya because Jun's influence and he doesn't want to continue the cycle of hatred that Heihachi created, to Kazuya hesitating to kill his son in his battle against him and he did hesitated when Jin was on the ground laying on the rock. Kazuya didn't really want to kill his son intentionally unless he provoked like Heihachi's case because he always brings betrayed and provoked by others. But with Jin's case he when he winning in their final bout, Kazuya looked at his son with hesitation in eyes and was prepared to leave him be, he didn't understand why his son is not like him and his father Heihachi's in a hatred revengeful sense.
I don’t think Jin will be the main protagonist in Tekken 9, more likely a DLC character. Tekken started with Kazuya and it should end with Kazuya. I think Tekken 9 will focus on Reina taking over the Mishima Zaibatsu and using her Devil Gene to forcibly take control of the leaderless G Corporation. While raiding G Corporation, Reina discovers Kazuya’s old research data collected after G Corporation recovered Kazuya’s body from a volcano after Tekken 2. With this research, Reina successfully completed Heihachi’s research by splicing her genome with Ogre’s DNA since a Devil Gene user is needed. This research is then used to create a Devil-Ogre powered army whose power greatly surpass the Jack units and any research conducted by Dr Bosconovich, in order to dominate the world. In the meantime, Jun helps Kazuya recover from his defeat in the hands of Jin Kazama. Having lost all motivation to live, Kazuya contemplates to die as he believes he is not worthy of possessing any form of power, and that everyone hates him (even Kazumi). There are situations in the character endings you can see being canon like Victor retiring and promoting Raven to "Great Raven" (Don't think the actor would return for 9). Another interesting one is Yoshimitsu's which is probably the only really serious one (- ^ ) The nature of his blade may just be related to Azazel and the other clan outside of the Hachijo.
Yo can you do THO Asuka, since she has so much wasted potential especially seen in her Tetsuman Comics where an alternate Tekken 6 story is told, although very anime-y, fanservice-y and weird at times, Asuka seems like a much better role for the protagonist role Tetsuman comics also parallel with Tag 2's buddy system of who likes who, and has a nice role for Lars, whom falls in love with Zafina
I believe Anna Williams is Reina's surrogate mother and Heihachi used his own genes and Kazumi's genes to create the perfect genetic template. I also believe this story beat has been mulling around Harada's mind for quite some time. I do believe tekken 4 was written to illustrate the capabilities of the biological sciences within the canon. We see my theory play out with 3 characters in tekken 4's story with Kazuya, Steve fox, and Nina Williams, lastly do we even know why Steve has a vague resemblance to Mishimas or who the potential donor might have been?
@@Panamaniax507 Steve is an orphan not to mention if Steve's dad were truly within the canon he'd appear to be very old because both Anna and Nina were cryogenically frozen for some reason. That's why Nina, Anna, and Steve don't appear to be much older than one another; it's one of those plot holes I'm sure Harada will circle back to at some point.
It seems like Reina will be the new devil and I think she is artificial and somehow her devil gene told her everything she needed to know. Jin should be the new angle now but what about the female angle from Tekken 2 will she make a return or did someone try to make an artificial version of her as well. I can’t wait for a story expansion cause so far they did everything right they just kept the story a little short. Hopfully they are taking notes from SF6 and are thinking about that kind of storyline for create a fighter and you can choose sides which fill up your good or evil side.
It would be so cool for Bandai to do story expansions but I am not to sure if they did that before and also I thought azrael or whatever that demon name is in the story that kazuya absorbed so is it still alive??
@@vikingfromnorth45 considering what happened between 6 and 7, I wouldn't count Azazel out just yet until Harada himself straight up confirms it, the dude has the tenacity of a cockroach, Jin thought if he killed Azazel the devil gene would be gone but it wasn't, later it was revealed Azazel survived and now the same pattern is repeating itself again with Reina still having the Devil Gene despite we ASSUMING Azazel was destroyed when Kazuya was purified, I don't think you can just kill the "origin of the devil gene" without having repercussions down the line with the story, another character that fits this is Ogre, he is considered dead but there's still an explanation to clarify as to why he's related to Azazel, and they will have to bring them both back at some point if they are going to do that

In the non-canon ones the mere presence of Ogre activates the devil gene in Devil Within, Tag 1 implies a rivalry between Devil and Ogre, and in Tag 2 True Ogre has a special throw with Zafina of all people
If the devil form of jin and kazuya are gone...than with Rena now having it...its become a problem a good problem and a scary one to. Lets not forget about Lars...even though he is still a mystery and still has the Mishima blood as well.
Both Jun, Jin, and Kazuya will face up against Devil Reina as their final boss in their respective story expansions starting in later seasons. Also, Jin still has the Devil mark on his arm which is proof that his devil gene is now intertwined with his Angel powers. But for now, both Jin and Kazuya's devil genes are just reverted back to their dormant states, since they basically pushed their devil powers over the limit, for the time being until after the main story.
With so many characters death taking place in Tekken 8 mostly by the heartless Kazuya himself and Jin defeating Kazuya...it does give a feeling that this may be the imminent ending of the francsie for the Tekken series. But when it comes to writing a story there's always a twist 😏🤔
If they make a story expansion, I hope they do more with Asuka. She is a Kazama, who holds the power to stop the devil gene. And since Reina has become the new devil, now that Jin and Kazuya have seemingly lost their devil powers, I would love to see the Kazama and Mishima rivalry continue with Asuka and Reina. But I am fully aware that the chances of this happening is slim to non as Asuka's potential has been wasted after her first appearance in Tekken 5.

It's because of Jun and the Kazama blood in Jin's body that he unlocked his angel form, and it was his Kazama powers that destroyed the devil gene. So no, people are not overestimating the Kazamas, it's thanks to them the world hasn't been destroyed by the Mishimas endless violence. Lars was only an exception to the rule.

The main protagonist for each game will always be a Mishima. There's 4 Mishimas who have been the main protagonist for at least a game in the franchise already.

Every tekken that releases I always say the ending should have been for the previous title if that makes sense. For example Jun returns and was hinted she would be heavy on the story yet she didn’t actually appear in the game only at the end standing over Kazuyas body. This should have been her standing at Jin body in a previous title. She did nothing so far. Even Jin doesn’t interact with her outside of the yakushina Kazama grounds. Harada stated she would be heavily influenced in the story tbh I don’t see where and how so far.
She did not return in the way people envisioned or hoped. Harada baited people. What her role and existence did in Tekken 8 though is to help Jin to accept his devil power but not giving into it and thus the chance of Jin being able to walk the path of redemption only then become possible with her purification power and encouragement in the plane of consciousness. She is quite important in this sense as she is pivotal to the plot progression of the story in Tekken 8.
The ending also show that after helping her son her next wish is to heal and help kazuya as well by appearing next to him though whether it is in reality or the plane of consciousness is left ambiguous in the ending.
Agreed. Jun repeatedly says throughout T8 that this time she'll save them both. She's already succeeded in saving Jin. Now we'll see if she's strong enough to save Kazuya. She's was unsuccessful in this attempt during T2 and Kaz's is going to require a lot more work than Jin lol. So we'll see, I'm rooting for her. 🙌

Kazuma and Jin definitely deserve a good ending, being a family, breaking the cycle of father and son killing each other, both just have lots of Ptsd because of Heihachi, but mommy Jun will fix them up in Tekken 9.
You know.. when I played the story mode I was so excited to see what role Jun played in the story. I was disappointed that I only got to see her shoes at the ending. Which means I have to wait for Tekken 9 and who knows how long we have to wait for that game to come out. Plus we have 25 other Heihachi children mentioned by Harada, which means the Mishima saga will continue on. If it took 30 years to finally conclude the Heihachi - Kazuya - Jin saga. Imagine how long it'll take for the other 25 children. 😅 I don't think i'll be alive to see that happened. Plus Harada and Murray are getting old and gonna retire someday, wonder if the new people who will take over will do the story/game justice.

I doubt theyll do that. Theyll be more focused on the fighting/competition part of the game, not the story. Theyll have their hands full balancing the game esp when the dlc fighters come. Not to mention new moves.
Reminder that the Alien race who created Ogre are probably still exist somewhere in outer space. We don't know if they are malice or not but if one Ogre is already terrifying enough, imagine how much of a horror those aliens would be if they decide to somehow invade Earth. But then again Humanity has been advanced so much in Tekken universe (Not to mention People like Reina, Yoshimitsu and Claudio are still around) that i could see them at least surviving an alien attack

I feel like Reina is a clone of kazuya. Bc the lore states that the gene comes from kazuya’s mom. It is stated that heihachi has several kids but he and kazuya’s mom only had the one kid. 🤷🏽♂️
I think you didn't get certain parts . The devil gene was not pass on to Reina by birth or experiment.She got it from Kazuya as he used Azazel power. She wanted the devil power just like what the person said who wants it the most. Azazel choose her as a host seeing she has potential. Jin refuse his so he lost it for a while. Had she had the power before she would have put up stronger fight against Kazuya.

This will be the actual first time to witness Kazuya & Jun interacting together. Theres alot of potential in this story.

That mark Jin has is just a brand i.e. burn scar, it just looks like a tattoo. It won't go away just like Kazuya's scar on his chest won't disappear. I wish they made Jin's scar look more like a brand than a tattoo as this tends to confuse a lot of folks otherwise.
It would be interesting for Kazuya's "redemption" if he were the one to face off Devil Reina. This time however he's the human in that battle, similar to when Heihachi fought him. Kazuya realizing what it's like fighting the devil as a human

I think Jin would look for other children of Heihachi. He would also have to deal with Reina and Miguel.

I would love to have Reina as the main character for Tekken 9 or continue her story in a dlc for Tekken. Azazel is the progenitor, Japan has the Red Oni and Blue Oni like what Kaz and Jin represent, but Jin in the end was golden thanks to his Kazama blood and became Angel Jin. So who's the new Red Oni? Its going to be Reina. Also Harada confirms that Heihachi was sleeping with other women who knows what bloodline he's spread through out his years might not just be Reina.
I think Jin and Xiaoyu randomly being in the desert on route 331 has to play into the dlc story. Narratively it works. Jin is living life, being happy, but it’s also is such a random location. Plus, it looks like Xiao is explaining something to him.
I wonder if Tekken will have a 3rd generation ? Like Jin having a child and he/she will be the new protagonist of Tekken.

I predicted alot of stuff that came true tekken despite Reina becoming a character and sister to Kazuya, From Heihachi's mortal death by his eldest son's hands, Jin winning but sparring Kazuya because Jun's influence and he doesn't want to continue the cycle of hatred that Heihachi created, to Kazuya hesitating to kill his son in his battle against him and he did hesitated when Jin was on the ground laying on the rock. Kazuya didn't really want to kill his son intentionally unless he provoked like Heihachi's case because he always brings betrayed and provoked by others. But with Jin's case he when he winning in their final bout, Kazuya looked at his son with hesitation in eyes and was prepared to leave him be, he didn't understand why his son is not like him and his father Heihachi's in a hatred revengeful sense.
I don’t think Jin will be the main protagonist in Tekken 9, more likely a DLC character. Tekken started with Kazuya and it should end with Kazuya. I think Tekken 9 will focus on Reina taking over the Mishima Zaibatsu and using her Devil Gene to forcibly take control of the leaderless G Corporation. While raiding G Corporation, Reina discovers Kazuya’s old research data collected after G Corporation recovered Kazuya’s body from a volcano after Tekken 2. With this research, Reina successfully completed Heihachi’s research by splicing her genome with Ogre’s DNA since a Devil Gene user is needed. This research is then used to create a Devil-Ogre powered army whose power greatly surpass the Jack units and any research conducted by Dr Bosconovich, in order to dominate the world. In the meantime, Jun helps Kazuya recover from his defeat in the hands of Jin Kazama. Having lost all motivation to live, Kazuya contemplates to die as he believes he is not worthy of possessing any form of power, and that everyone hates him (even Kazumi). But Jun stops him, and told him the same message she told Jin: his own life is worth saving, and he should not place himself before others. There are situations in the character endings you can see being canon like Victor retiring and promoting Raven to "Great Raven" (Don't think the actor would return for 9).
Another interesting one is Yoshimitsu's which is probably the only really serious one (- ^ ) The nature of his blade may just be related to Azazel and the other clan outside of the Hachijo.

I believe Anna Williams is Reina's surrogate mother and Heihachi used his own genes and Kazumi's genes to create the perfect genetic template.
I also believe this story beat has been mulling around Harada's mind for quite some time. I do believe tekken 4 was written to illustrate the capabilities of the biological sciences within the canon. We see my theory play out with 3 characters in tekken 4's story with Kazuya, Steve fox, and Nina Williams, lastly do we even know why Steve has a vague resemblance to Mishimas or who the potential donor might have been?

That's why Nina, Anna, and Steve don't appear to be much older than one another; it's one of those plot holes I'm sure Harada will circle back to at some point.
It seems like Reina will be the new devil and I think she is artificial and somehow her devil gene told her everything she needed to know. Jin should be the new angle now but what about the female angle from Tekken 2 will she make a return or did someone try to make an artificial version of her as well. I can’t wait for a story expansion cause so far they did everything right they just kept the story a little short. Hopfully they are taking notes from SF6 and are thinking about that kind of storyline for create a fighter and you can choose sides which fill up your good or evil side.

@@vikingfromnorth45 considering what happened between 6 and 7, I wouldn't count Azazel out just yet until Harada himself straight up confirms it, the dude has the tenacity of a cockroach, Jin thought if he killed Azazel the devil gene would be gone but it wasn't, later it was revealed Azazel survived and now the same pattern is repeating itself again with Reina still having the Devil Gene despite we ASSUMING Azazel was destroyed when Kazuya was purified, I don't think you can just kill the "origin of the devil gene" without having repercussions down the line with the story, another character that fits this is Ogre, he is considered dead but there's still an explanation to clarify as to why he's related to Azazel, and they will have to bring them both back at some point if they are going to do that

In the non-canon ones the mere presence of Ogre activates the devil gene in Devil Within, Tag 1 implies a rivalry between Devil and Ogre, and in Tag 2 True Ogre has a special throw with Zafina of all people

Both Jun, Jin, and Kazuya will face up against Devil Reina as their final boss in their respective story expansions starting in later seasons. Also, Jin still has the Devil mark on his arm which is proof that his devil gene is now intertwined with his Angel powers. But for now, both Jin and Kazuya's devil genes are just reverted back to their dormant states, since they basically pushed their devil powers over the limit, for the time being until after the main story.
With so many characters death taking place in Tekken 8 mostly by the heartless Kazuya himself and Jin defeating Kazuya...it does give a feeling that this may be the imminent ending of the francsie for the Tekken series. But when it comes to writing a story there's always a twist 😏🤔
If they make a story expansion, I hope they do more with Asuka. She is a Kazama, who holds the power to stop the devil gene. And since Reina has become the new devil, now that Jin and Kazuya have seemingly lost their devil powers, I would love to see the Kazama and Mishima rivalry continue with Asuka and Reina.
But I am fully aware that the chances of this happening is slim to non as Asuka's potential has been wasted after her first appearance in Tekken 5.

It's because of Jun and the Kazama blood in Jin's body that he unlocked his angel form, and it was his Kazama powers that destroyed the devil gene. So no, people are not overestimating the Kazamas, it's thanks to them the world hasn't been destroyed by the Mishimas endless violence. Lars was only an exception to the rule.

Agreed and it would just be a repeat of T7 final battle anyway.
Every tekken that releases I always say the ending should have been for the previous title if that makes sense. For example Jun returns and was hinted she would be heavy on the story yet she didn’t actually appear in the game only at the end standing over Kazuyas body. This should have been her standing at Jin body in a previous title. She did nothing so far. Even Jin doesn’t interact with her outside of the yakushina Kazama grounds. Harada stated she would be heavily influenced in the story tbh I don’t see where and how so far.
She did not return in the way people envisioned or hoped. Harada baited people. What her role and existence did in Tekken 8 though is to help Jin to accept his devil power but not giving into it and thus the chance of Jin being able to walk the path of redemption only then become possible with her purification power and encouragement in the plane of consciousness. She is quite important in this sense as she is pivotal to the plot progression of the story in Tekken 8.
The ending also show that after helping her son her next wish is to heal and help kazuya as well by appearing next to him though whether it is in reality or the plane of consciousness is left ambiguous in the ending.

Agreed. Jun repeatedly says throughout T8 that this time she'll save them both. She's already succeeded in saving Jin. Now we'll see if she's strong enough to save Kazuya. She's was unsuccessful in this attempt during T2 and Kaz's is going to require a lot more work than Jin lol. So we'll see, I'm rooting for her. 🙌

You know.. when I played the story mode I was so excited to see what role Jun played in the story. I was disappointed that I only got to see her shoes at the ending. Which means I have to wait for Tekken 9 and who knows how long we have to wait for that game to come out.
Plus we have 25 other Heihachi children mentioned by Harada, which means the Mishima saga will continue on. If it took 30 years to finally conclude the Heihachi - Kazuya - Jin saga. Imagine how long it'll take for the other 25 children. 😅 I don't think i'll be alive to see that happened. Plus Harada and Murray are getting old and gonna retire someday, wonder if the new people who will take over will do the story/game justice.

Reminder that the Alien race who created Ogre are probably still exist somewhere in outer space. We don't know if they are malice or not but if one Ogre is already terrifying enough, imagine how much of a horror those aliens would be if they decide to somehow invade Earth. I think you didn't get certain parts . The devil gene was not pass on to Reina by birth or experiment.She got it from Kazuya as he used Azazel power. She wanted the devil power just like what the person said who wants it the most. Azazel choose her as a host seeing she has potential. Jin refuse his so he lost it for a while.

That mark Jin has is just a brand i.e. burn scar, it just looks like a tattoo. It won't go away just like Kazuya's scar on his chest won't disappear. I wish they made Jin's scar look more like a brand than a tattoo as this tends to confuse a lot of folks otherwise.
