    Thanks for bringing us along on your adventures and sharing your high points, memories and low points. I hope that just having us subscribers following you gives you some motivation to get out there on the bike and tick off some of those things on that list that you so kindly shared with us from Sarah's 'book of instructions'. I'm a bit behind on the vids, so I have 4 vids of your trip to look forward to tonight.

      Thanks so much for the supportive message. Everyone has been so kind and empathic, it’s truly amazing and humbling, so thank you again. It certainly give me the kick up the backside I need to get out there :)

    It's good to hear you're going to go back up to finish the NC500. You didn't fail last time, you were just overwhelmed . No one should ride in an emotional state. (and yes, the weather was also shite) Better to go up when the weather is better with more friends and family to enjoy the trip with and share stories with.
    Having motivation to do things is hard on the best of days. Just take it one piece at a time.
    Thanks for sharing your journey with the world.

      Motivation is a killer, or lack of rather. I am forcing myself to get my arse in great, otherwise I’d just sit miserable for the rest of my days 👍

      I friggin hate it mate, every day it’s brutal stationary traffic, it’s quieter the now just because the schools are off, but I still hate the commute with a passion lol

    Howdy from across the pond, friend, just found your channel because I like RTs. Sorry for your loss. Time moves grief from foreground to background, thankfully. Speaking to a mental health professional also probably can't hurt, as riding alone might not cut it. Looking forward to future videos!

    Hey there. Good to see and hear you, although that "filtering " through the cars looked pretty scary ! Well done you and take care. Looking forward to the next one. Hugs.

      I hate it mate, every day for the last 5 years 10 miles in each direction of standstill traffic, it better the now because the schools are off, but outside of school holidays it’s horrendous!! Thanks for commenting :)

      lol thank you 🙏 I have to do it every day to and from work, about 10 miles in each direction, and it’s normally a damn site worse than that 😬 I suppose you get so used to it, I’m not complacent though, I’m constantly scanning which is why the van pulling across the lanes didn’t phase me in the slightest. Thanks for watching :)

      Thank you, she’s a beaut, absolutely love my RT. To be honest, I’ve got the seat at its lowest, I’m 5’10” but short (ish) legs, and I can get by fine. One of those ADV’s though, I’m on my tip-toes which is jot for me 😜 Looking at a CF Moto MT800 explore as my daily commuter, to give the RT a rest as like you, I’m on it every day. Will see what the future brings. Thanks for joining our community, speak soon, Craig.

      I think you may want to reconsider as I am sure if you have lets say a 29'' inseam and with some practice and maybe the BMW low seat which they offer for the RT you will be just fine. The boxer motor makes them so well balanced too. Also instead of what I see most riders doing, that is when coming to a stop and or taking off they always seem to have both feet down. The better way is to always have your foot over the rear brake and when coming to a stop just put your left foot down and slide over a bit and you will be at times flat footed. A police officer I just spoke to about his RT 1250 patrol bike and he also being a shorter rider told me he can not back the bike up but then preceded to do a 9' U-turn and said he rides it all day long everyday. Good Luck!

      @@ericjames7680 Hi there, 29" - 30" is about spot on for me, and the RT fits like a glove with the standard seat on low height. Like you say, very well balanced bike, love it.

    Positively Artic conditions! Perhaps next year consider somewhere warmer, Route Napoleon? Filtering fairly fast on a large wide bike, aware mirrors widest part of bike, some car drivers down south will purposely manoeuvre their car to block bikers in dual carriageway and motorway traffic jams. French drivers are generally the best in my experience facilitating filtering and possibly the Swiss are the worst?

    • @RidingThroughGrief
      @RidingThroughGrief  Před 13 dny

      I do about 20 miles of filtering every working day, get so used to it, as well as the size of the bike. Most motorists are great and make space when they see me, not experienced it down south mind you ;) I don't mind riding when its below freezing, would still rather be on the bike than the car, I don't have to ride any country roads on the way into work so they're generally ok, 35 years so far survived ;)
