While Zero is an advert, the line "Coca Cola mashita" is from a Korean nursery rhyme that dates back to 1940s. It's taken right from the nursery rhyme down to even the melody. Which is why I think it is so catchy. In terms of marketing it's actually a stroke of genius to include it in the song, because I'm not sure the idea of being unable to unhear the advertisement hits the same when the line we as non-Koreans interpret to be the advert is simply a childish song almost everyone knows. Really wild to me how the cultural context of that line utterly swaps the song from a hit song to an overbearing advert for some.
Only Korea could have a nursery rhyme about Coca Cola 😭

I believe Super Shy actually samples the Powerpuff Girls theme song as well or was at least inspired by it, the drum pattern sounds very similar and even the synth melody as well. 😊

I love New Jeans music, the only issue I have is the music is too short, especially in the stuff released last year, but their latest pre-release is longer, thankfully. I look forward to their new release this year.

New Jeans is my fave song of theirs followed by cool with you.... Its genre is 'mainstream UK garage' (most of the getup ep is rooted in this) made popular in the late 90s by the likes of craig david and artful dodger... its actually based on clubland dance music so its not slow at all lol.... originally in the clubs uk garage was accompanied by harder riffs and raps/mc's... but the likes of artful dodger and craig david made it very popular in the mainstream by replacing the hard riffs with softer melodies and swapping the raps for soulful/rnb singing... but keepig the essence of uk garage by retaining the superfast snares and hard bass lines
I agree. I don't know if I use the right term but they have group cohesiveness. They look different but they work together effectively. Everyone equally stands out and when they go together no one looks left behind.

'cocacola is tasty' is a not a common lyric or melody in Korea. it's Eeney, Meeney, Miney, Mo. it has it's own history and cultural context.

There's a short documentary of their last monthly evaluation to know who was going to make it to the final lineup of the group.
It's an advertisement for Coca Cola and what's wrong with that. All idols are used as advertising space in some form and earn money from it and there is nothing wrong with that. I think it's good that New Jeans chooses its collaborations and designs them itself. I'm just saying I've given a song for Pepsi and many other groups before, but with New Jeans it's something bad?
