Only watching this 6 years later but great viewing-well done. Have you competed against first and third since then? Need to check names. By the way with a bit more muscle power your score is bound to improve.

Congratulations Cedric. Nice job on the medal. Oh and just from on pole vaulted to another, do you know how many people can get on 16 ft. Poles, not many. Just some advice but you should use that grip to you advantage and start to get back on your hips. You could probably jump 5.20 in a week if you just get your hips back. Though I'd imagine you hear that a lot. Have you ever tried pull up bar drills or gymnastics? That's just my two cents. Any way congrats on the medal and the pr. Go for gold in Rio!!!

Thanks for the feedback! I really appreciate it! I did gymnastics exercises for a bit but it got too crazy with the amount of training going on. I've been trying to get my hips back more lately but it's just one of those things that isn't clicking. If you have any tips on how to do it please let me know!

    • @aymansaleh8915

My advice would be to go from a short run and try to swing to vertical not to an L. I have seen your vlogs and it just looks like you have just been going from long runs. My advice is that when you go from long runs for a whole season, its hard to try and keep your technique right because you just want to take off. I know because you are a decathlete you cant be giving more time to one event because you have 9 others to work on. So i would not suggest to take more time on pole vault but to make better use and to go from 8 steps rather than 12 so you can get some more technical work in without trying to increase the amount of time you have to spend on the discipline. Now you obliviously know that you have to go down in pole size and grip so be careful when trying to chose your grip. I would suggest you should grip at a length were you know you can penetrate the pit well. Now once you start jumping you should focus on not stopping you swing to the L position you tend to finish in. You should bring your hips all the way back past the pole. Of course easier said than done but you will see from the short run it is in fact easier to accomplish getting to vertical because the pole is easier to control when you are jumping from 8 steps. What i am trying to say is you should perfect your swing from a smaller less intense run, so that when you jump from your competition run you will know what to do in the air. If you cant understand what i am saying reply and ill try again. best of luck
