I used to own 2 MR2 turbos. I tried drifting one of them a few times... now I have 1 MR2 turbo.

Thanks for the replies :) Don't worry though... it didn't die. I had to replace all 4 wheels, tyres and the rear shocks then sold it and bought an R33 instead :D
Very smart MR2 a credit to its owner, so many of these cars didn't make it through the Max Power years unscathed.

i think its looks ever so slightly over kill, id have a slightly different wing and lip, but it does look awesome, makes the stock ones look terrible and i bet it would be a lot of fun

@@dylan4972 there arent popular where i live becuase of snappy oversteer and constant rain , and i know becuase i have spun one out twice on roundabouts and watched someone else do the same

These car is gorgeous! Wish you talked about the elephant in the room, just to maybe save some MR2´s on the roads with new drivers. Im talking weight distribution which is ending the MR2 existence. But since im a nice guy i tell you the short version. When you feel you wanna let go of the gas and break because your pushing it to hard, dont! =) Happy MR2íng out there. I like my MR2 W30 as well, nice sunny day driver and kicks ass at small tracks in stock shape.

First of all Big thanks to ML and Vil for the feature, with additions of "John" for good measure. had a great day blasting through Mexico. Secondly thanks to all you guys, overwhelming love for a motor that I've put a lot of time and money into building.
I wanted to build a car that isn't often seen and am so glad I picked the sw20 MR2 turbo. Honestly its one of the most rewarding
cars when you nail it, and the snap oversteer thing is just keeping you on your toes. Who wants a car that super easy to drive

Big plans on a fully forged engine build happening right now along with larger turbo, injectors etc. Aiming for 400bhp.

These cars are so freaking underrated. I think they should be on the great 90's Japanese unicorn's, list
Barosan Gaming. These aren’t very good first cars. You gotta learn to drive one of these, cause they can be very snappy. A reliable, dailyable car would be a better option.

My god what a damn good looking MR2 ! This car is a Japanese icon. One of the best cars to leave japan and HIGHLY underrated. Its a little monster it can be a drag car and a track car

I bought my 1991 MR2 last year near London. I took the plane and drove it back home. Now he has Dutch liscenseplates on it :p

There arn't many left here on the road anymore, but you see them alot on dirt racing tracks. They become pretty expensive over here when they're in good shape haha

FUEL MY RIDE did u insure it? if u did how much was it
My V6 sw20 costs the same amount as a Turbo to insure... The policies here in Australia just make sure that the conversion is engineered/ approved, then they just note that you have a different engine... They don't care if its a 4cyl turbo or a 10cyl supercharged. Registering a car is a different story as there is a displacement per weight of your car... I calculated my sw20 could legally have a 3.6L force induction engine on the road... or something like 5.4L N/A Bahaaha!

Beautiful mr2! I used to have a mk 4 supra and an st205 gt4 wrc. Toyotas in the 90's were awsome. Great video.

The suspension work is a huge benefit to any of the MR2 line. All the OEs were set up way too soft. My NA AW11 caught me a couple of times in the wet, but didn't have enough power to get into too much trouble in the dry. The turbo SW20 I had later had the guts, but you had to be on your toes at the end of the slide with the snap of that squishy suspension.

3 mins into the video and I realise that this is an MR2 around my area. The launch you did was on the Eridge Bypass right? Looked familiar then I realised I followed the dude on Instagram and we're in the same MR2 group. See the MR2 drive past my work in the town centre sometimes, very nice.

The later MR2s had slightly different suspension which supposedly helped make them a bit more predictable.
