They are sooo good. The bassist, Jooyeon said he is practicing growling and screaming, you can hear it a bit in their cover of Tomboy by G-idle.
Songs i want to recommend are:
Break the break (their heaviest so far)
Strawberry cake (minimalistic instrumental with amazing vocals, and a good meaning)
    Bicycle (very fun)
    Good enough (ballad in english)
X-Mas (since Christmas is coming) the performance video has lyrics

This is back from their debut era two years ago so Jooyeon (the vocalist you like) has been learning and experimenting more with his vocals and is starting to get some of the scratchier type sounds that you mentioned!! I'd recommend checking out their Tomboy cover for that.
As for originals - def their latest title track Break the Brake for a heavier sound or Dear H for a rock ballad.

Oooo I loved your reaction! Their newest album really hit my alt/emo/hardcore loving side. I recommend Pluto and Enemy. Those songs really gave me those feelings I had listening to music back in high school.😊 Thank you for giving them attention!

Thank you for reacting to Xdinary Heroes! It's nice to see you enjoy the cover, they indeed did amazing! They are actually a K-band producing and performing rock songs! They follow certain promotion just like a kpop group, so that's why ppl still consider them as one of kpop groups out there. Please do check their songs, too, the newest album has a title song "Break the Brake" and my fav side track "PLUTO" ^^

Their songs in general fall under the rock genre, with a lot of them sounding more experimental and in between genres than being recognizable (imo) until their recent album, Livelock. Not to say it's a bad thing: I find their previous releases especially Deadlock really fun to listen to, and I think it gives them a rather unique sound. Their heaviest so far, as mentioned by the others, is "Break the Break". It's heavy in a sense of synth, guitars, drums. In the same album. I could also recommend "AGAIN? AGAIN!" mainly because of the pop/alt rock vibes it gives a-la Faber Drive, Boys Like Girls--basically the 2000s pop rock bands. "Enemy" has an angsty vibe without the vocal scratchiness, though they don't have a MV for that (can look at lyric videos instead). Other songs from the same album are worth checking out, and I personally find them very reminiscent of some familiar rock genres but I just can't put my finger on it 😂
Could also recommend "Strawberry Cake" mainly for the vocal fry 😂as a fan of screaming/growling vocals that was the closest i could get and was easily a favorite.
"Happy Death Day" is also a personal favorite after finding out it's their debut single. Granted, not a lot of people liked it as much as their other songs, but I personally enjoyed it as it gave the same feel as MCR, The Used, and other bands. Not sound-wise but concept wise at least.

If you listen to break the break you need to know that they're stuck in a time loop in the MV. That makes it alot better for me. Otherwise I think it's a little repetitive
