Bikram Ghosh - Peshkar in Teentaal 16 Beats

PESHKAR :
A composition played in the beginning of a tabla solo performance. It includes all the bols (syllables) and layakaris (rhythmic patterns). It is a challenge to a tabla player's creativity.

One of the finest Farukhabaad Gharana renditions of peshkar I've heard in a long time. The sarangi accompaniment of raga Charukeshi is fantastic. I would love to hear the full audio of this along with kaida's, palta's, etc.

Excellent work what a beautiful tonal quality of Tabla and bayan also you have created a new style with your own improvisation and imagination you have broken the typical long boring peshkars of Farukhabad or Delhi also introduced some type of auchars played in Bananas and in combination produced a new Suruyat

Bikram ghosh should do more of this and less of con-fusion, I saw him live in birmingham about 15 years ago with pt R shankar and he was absolutely mind blowing but since than he seemed to have gone backwards.

I have to reluctantly agree with you. Given that he is the son of such a highly respected tabla master Pt Shankar Ghosh, I find his 'confusion' antics quite distracting and frankly a bit embarassing. If he focused on traditional tabla I'm sure it would be more enjoyable. Others are also doing fusion, but he seems to have gone a bit too much into that direction.
