Why I haven't Been Making YouTube Videos - Channel Update

- In this video I head off to a new location and collect some trail-cameras that I setup a few weeks earlier. Whilst there and updating you guys on the future of the channel, I get surprised by an unexpected visitor!

Thanks for this video, it really resonated with me as a new CZcams channel. At times the need to video takes over the reason why I’m out there capturing wildlife images to start with.

Congratulations Richard - I hope you and your daughter have loads of great wildlife experiences together :) Re. the lost audio - definitely been there and it's a total pain in the rear when you get back and realise! Maybe release the video with a few key bits of windy audio, if you can fiddle with it enough to get it audible, and then voiceover some of the rest. I'll look forward to it!

I’ve been adding subtitles today and trying to reduce background noise but I edit in iMovie, so quite limited 😂 Hopefully I’ll get it to the point where I’m happy to release it 🤞

Dude, don't stress about not managing to put stuff out. You hit the nail on the head, you can't have it all and somethings got to give. I did our Shetland tour, filmed daily videos for 17 days and I was disappointed in the view count so when I went to Mull, I didn't vlog BUT then I had enough Otter footage to put out my recent edit! So Don't stress! You don't owe us anything! Congrats on the big news! The beaver shot made me laugh out loud and I'm getting more and more jealous of the hair!

@@mywildlifeimages mine was maybe a little shorter than yours. Then took it down to short back and sides. Now I've got a number 1 all over as I felt it was looking too thin 😂😂😂

Hey Richard, good to see you back on the vlog front. How bizarre, I have just tonight posted a 3min clip about why I've been away from vlogging over the last 3 months or so, and yes, I can relate to your reasoning.
Anyway, good to see you back and also a huge congrats to you and your good lady, fingers crossed the little lady will follow you and your wildlife journey. I introduced our son to nature and wildlife photography 3yrs ago when he was coming up to 3yrs old, and love having a little companion out in the field, as I'm sure you will.

I would suggest put it out there, As all the bloggers , videographers , make mistakes ,although during the edit we cut out most of them, but that doesn't mean that anyone is perfect. this just goes to show how difficult it is at times , to create videos , and how many issues one face from all sorts of direction. So it's a pain at times but still we do this , because we love to travel / creating videos.

Nice one Rich, good to see you back at it! Totally get what you mean about the CZcams thing, I'm a stills man and much prefer to leave the vlogging stuff at home and concentrate on the subject! But once you start it's hard to stop as the time you invest dosen't want to be wasted! And to be fair it's great fun and you get to meet and interact with lots of people which is half the fun! Looking forward to seeing more content, it's always refreshing seeing how other people do it! Be great to see the Skomer Vlog, we all have the nightmare mic problems, one of my Mull ones was written off due to issues, still thats the reality of doing these Vlogs, dosen't always go smoothly! Most importantly, congrats on becoming a Dad, it's the best thing, seeing Nature through young eyes is amazing! Best of luck with getting out when she arrives, busy times, lol.... Congrats on becoming a dad! I wanted to say thank you for your statement about not doing photography when you're with clients. It seems so many folks don't do that, but then the client isn't getting the attention and help they've signed up for. I know it's been frustrating for me in the past. I've only done a couple of group workshops, but I'm very shy and almost never end up getting any time with the leader because they are either with other clients or doing their own photos. So, I really appreciate you putting your clients first.
As for the videos, it's completely understandable. You've been busy and should be able to spend time on your own too. I would love to see the puffin video. If the wind noise really bothers you, maybe you could do a voice over and cut the sound for those bits or do subtitles and turn the sound down really low or something like that. Just a thought. Anyway, congrats again. Looking forward to whatever you can put out for videos. :) Cheers from Maine, USA. :) Paula
