it was super interesting. i didn't know much about it before i made the video.
Delightfully chilling. Also another testament to how we as players progress through the game. Whether or not we’re aware of what we’re doing, it can be seen as foolish or naive. On the other hand, we take what we want/need to survive and rise up to defeat foes no mere mortal could dream of besting.

While killing cave horrors I always wondered why they wore those masks. There were so many symbols and carvings on Mos le Harmless referencing the masks so I figured there was some lore behind them. Thanks for the answer, this was very well put together.

The Tescasathla sounds like Xau-Tak.
You literally have to fight those black hands reaching up in the Elite Dungeons.
Xau-Tak is sort of an Elder God, but… Different.
Zaros himself briefly mentions the existence of the 5 elder Gods “and something else”.
It is believed that it was Xau-Tak that corrupted the Elder God Mah’s egg, causing her to be born malformed the way she is.
My theory is the Xau-Tak was the original Mah that failed to reincarnate and was mutated by the destruction of the universe or maybe Erebus. So little is known of Erebus and who else can directly impact an Elder God. The only beings capable were the Mahjarrat and Zaros with a weakened Mah and the Shadow Leviathan from Erebus
