I heard a statement early in this video how they were worried about the bison damaging the land. Look how much dammage domestic livestock does to our enviroment. Feed lots, poluted water ways, over grazing and all the chemicals used to grow the feed. I am happy to see this taking place. Greed is a big factor for so much oposition.

It's only right for the Natives to continue the fight for balance in the ecosystem as they have done for hundreds of years. They have known the earth secrets about balance way before the white man. At one time these Buffalos helped sustain the Natives Americans way of life. Now the Indian people can help sustain the Buffalos life........

I don't know how some people think the way they do. All of this land once belonged to the Native American People and the animals that sustained their lives for hundreds of years before any American came here. They didn't even know this land existed... Why are they still trying to suppress after all they have gone through, the indiginious people on their land?? I am very glad they were able to stop those bills to prevent them from their way of life. My opinion only, I don't want to affend anyone at all.

The return of the Bison to the prairie is the right thing to do, but there should be more of it throughout the West. All Federal land should have free roaming Bison, just as they have Elk and deer.

    • @johnisbell574
      @johnisbell574 Před 4 lety +3

@@timmccarthy3034 White has nothing to do with it. There are many white people who want to see the bison returned to the range. The problem is that the ranchers want the cattle to forage on that same land and that is competition. All businesses hate competition, but that is just the way it is in this country.Competition helps to keep the prices down. Bison cannot be raised as easily as cows can , and they would require larger and taller fences. Ranchers resist by crying Brucellosis when ever the Bison are to be reintroduced. The real threat is competition.

@@johnisbell574 yes , well said John, I fully agree, but essentially all the ranchers who oppose the buffalo.....are "white"....not Native American....so it is still an issue of racial misunderstanding at the very least, and reflects the racist attitudes that still exist in USA today in places where it always has been a big problem....But I think things are changing for the better now, slowly....one can only hope ...and pray that things get better...The Buffalo will help make that happen, and will bring the 2 races , Red and White...together as One People....just as the reintroduction of the wolf to Yellowstone has done..All the ranchers ("white" ranchers) were opposed to the wolves being reintroduced back to their old homelands, but the Native American people, the Blackfeet tribe mainly, united the efforts of white scientists, and wolf experts, and law makers, etc to officially bring back the wolf in Yellowstone Park, and look now , what has happened....No wolves are running around killing all the cattle etc...and they have brought about a new sense of natural balance to the land, once over populated with herds of elk, etc, overgrazing,, now, the health of the environment has been restored....The same thing will happen with the Buffalo too..it will restore the land. and unite the People....

Back in 76, on a ranch in Mo a buffalo rammed my father off his horse, next thing I remember he was under a shade tree working on a rope, then we were hauling ass through a field, my mother was driving, he roped that buffalo fron a 72 Ford ranger. This has been long time needed, hopefully not long past do, and may we remember our forefathers past deeds and take the high road towards renewal, something to leave unto the next generations to come forward and protect and preserve unlike an unruly wreched past.

    Hello there Native American Indians!
Please educate the Courts about TRUTH in laws and respect for our ancestors who are plants ,insects and animals.
Scientists have proven that we came from sperm cells in seaman with tails that resembles tadpoles before we lost our tails to become human man and woman.
The disgusting truth is that animals with tails are our ancestors.
Please apply logic in the courts.
Courtship is about courts and the right to respect our ancestors!
The disgusting truth is that the Native American Buffalo and Bison are Native to United States of America before the white settlers arrived to starve on Thanksgiving Day without the Native American Indians feeding the pilgrims during the winter months.
Please understand transparency about TRUTH in United States of America history!
Native American Indians went through genocide and never really fully recovered alongside the Native American Buffalo and Bison.
Please appeal to the High Courts and define love and courtship with being a native which means Hindi for Hindian or Indian.
    Om Mani Pad Me Hum!

When they speak of fear of the free roaming Bison what they are really speaking on is the fear of growing Native American populations in those areas. I’m sorry, it’s the only reasoning I can think of as to why they wouldn’t want Bison roaming the plains in Montana. You ever hear the saying “Kill every buffalo you can, every buffalo dead is another Indian gone”.
