Thanks for this video. Your enthusiasm is brilliant. I’m a Honda fanboy been riding them for 40+ years. Reliability awesome. Last summer I took my 2019 CB500X on a three month tour of Europe, mostly wild camping around Scandinavia. I did 13,000 miles and all the bike needed was oil changes and tyres.
If I wasn’t so old and short the AT would be right up my street.
Thumbs up and I’ve subbed, look forward to your future vids ✌🏻🙂
Glad to finally see a review of this new 'Frica Win. Thx !
Thanks for this. I'm glad to see a review of the base motorcycle, albeit with the electronic suspension. Well done as always.
Looking purposeful and attractive. Well done, Honda.
Really great insight that was. Super off roading section as well, not something most of us would do on a demo bike so fair play to you. I’m very excited about this bike but probably the DCT version. Defo thinking of moving my GS on now. Thanks for the vid mate. 🙏👌🎥
Love it. Honda, please send this to the USA.
It will be in the US by May 2024 . But we don’t get the ES in the base model only Adventure sports
@@kevineverard4928ya that sucks eh? I wish it came
On base. I just got one and waiting till may in Canada.
I have the electronic suspension on my ATAS. It’s great, it can be firm for twisties and set it as a bit more soggy for a comfy long distance touring ride. Love it 👍.
And finally Honda fit tubeless wheels to the standard bike. 👍👍👍 Now I’ve just got to save a few more pennies for a manual ES. 😉
I had the previous 1100l and ordered this as soon as it was released. Getting the ES version was the best decision. I’ve had many bikes with ES and this one is so different in each mode. The extra kick at 5k is also fantastic.
nice one fish cracking bike 😊
Oh dear , I saw the front end go ..
Even my bum had a clench from here ...😂😂
I think they have redesigned the throttle bodies to get the extra torque
Brilliant video once again..
45 miles and off road 😊
Mr Fish love the video I had the 2024 Africa Twin Adventure Sports DCT ES delivered Very late December the now 19" front wheel is different, like yourself this is my 3rd Bike, but Im so in love with it, its amazing, if you want to do a swap and review feel free lol cheers love your content mate.
I want one! Honda please release the 24 model to the US!!!
I love my ATAS!
A good review thank you 😊
As you say that could be an expensive test. Maybe it is time Honda U.K. rewarded you with a long term test bike…
Its marvelous
Great vid mate. I had one for the weekend! Never a fan before! By fuk! I am now might be my next bike! Not sure you got the wright right tho? 🤷🏼♂️
This will be my next bike.
Seriously considering this new AT as my next bike.
Currently riding a 2023 T7, which I still absolutely enjoy riding after 12 months of ownership.. but this new AT is at the top of my list come PX time! 🙌🏻
I went back to basics with my current T7 - from having a Tracer-9 GT before that, with all those various bells and whistles fitted to that like this Honda, but I really miss not having the cruise control!..(and tubeless wheels)
Just one question for you, are you sure the different riding modes limit the actual power of the engine??
Or do they merely just give you a less/more sharp throttle response?
Good review btw 👍🏻
👌👌👍
Great video! Thank you. 👍 When you came up to the stop sign and stalled it, I laughed right along *with* you. I've done the same thing, thinking I was rolling up in Neutral. lol
Question: If your current ATAS had electronic suspension, would you still trade it in for the '24 standard with ES & DCT? Or would you only consider the '24 Adventure Sport as enough upgrade for you to make the switch?
Thanks again.
I’m not even considering the new 24 AS 19” front wheel is not for me on an Africa twin
I got the new 24 Transalp and I really like it but I’d like to ride the new AT
The adventure sports has 19" rim at front :)
try to change on your black widow rear shock for hyperpro....did on mine and changed the bike 200%
2h of work and a tool for spring compression but well worth it
@@Mrfish2015 never ridden an electric one but can compare stock and updated since it is a progressive and thicker spring. When doing maintenance on forks will change springs as well. Don't have the need for electronic (one more electronic component that may be pricey to fix and maintain) since i have it tuned for my liking and not going to go heavy off-road and street on street-oriented tires (would need a second wheel set). Not sure if spring can be changed on electronic one without messing it up as afterwards is needed to re-adjust compression and rebound. Keep it simple and have fun.
Great video thanks. You mention you have Trailmax Raids on your AT, how do you find them for noise?
I think Honda have nailed it with this one. Looks very sexy. No after the dirt video of the AT...shocking 😂
As a bigger fella, how do you like the standard suspension (non ES)? Is it too soft for road use and 2-up riding?
I never ride 2 up , I’ve ridden with full luggage and upped the preload and found no problems
hi .strange does the 2024 model have a golden steering bar and golden rims ? 19 inch front wheel ?
May i ask? The ES configures the suspension as you would by rotating the nobs and screws manually prior riding. Does it also set your suspensions WHILE riding depending on your speed and the quality of the road? Is there a dynamic action while riding the motorcycle in order to improve handling?
What would the price of a DCT/ES version be in that basic spec? Only if you know of course. Is it top heavy (as my Crosstourer DCT Highlander was) That's why I traded down to an NC750x at Doble's (after watching your review in 2021).
Check it the link , it gives prices there (you can configure too) I didn’t like the crosstourer so I would say this is miles better
I have the ATAS, i,want the new one, I’ll have to downgrade to the non Adventure Sports, because I need that 21” front wheel, I like the technical stuff. I am gonna have to figure out where to put the extra gas. I live in the southwest of the US, a tru adventure can be a long distance between gas stations
What's up Fish
Any way to turn off the indicator running lights off entirely so that they only activate when I signal for a turn?
@@Mrfish2015 Oh that's a shame. I find it very strange that *turn signals* would be on when I'm not turning or indicating a hazard. Doesn't make sense to me.
Did you give it the beans on the motor way? Hope u had time to.
No , but can’t see it being a problem at motorway speeds , my 3 have never suffered 😆
@@Mrfish2015 that bike would never suffer on a motorway 😁 if anything I guess the torque would make it even Better.
Its a fantastic bike, but i was hoping for a bigger engine «update». Maybe in a 2-3 years?
if you had to choose between ES or DCT because getting both is too expensive, which option would you choose?
@@Mrfish2015 Thank you sir for the quick reply , in my country i can get the dct without the es. (for the base model)
I do like the bike but I’ve never understood why there’s a tft and a lcd screen
Need to see vital info whilst the main tft is showing navigation from your phone.. CarPlay.
yes, when you use the TFT for navigation or other android auto the lcd is very handy.
Listed stock weight 233/513 lbs
244 for the ES DCT 233 for non ES manual (thanks for pointing that out my mistake)
Wait.....yours is a manual with Electronic suspension?? HOW???
Standard Africa Twin comes with ES and manual. If you get the DCT then you have to get ES as well. In America the standard Africa Twin isn’t available with ES :(
I am between this and the new Stelvio ... i don't know which one to choose.
Do you think that windscreen is tall enough for someone? That’s 6 foot?
Depends on how long your body is .. but an extender may remedy it if it’s not
I hate to hear that the electronic suspension makes it better. I have to spend the extra money now. It it ever comes to the US
Wish HONDA would send non DCT into USA!
Really can't understand why people get hung up on the tubeless Tyre thing I've been riding 37 years and never once have I had any issues regarding a tube bike over a tubeless bike. To be fair I'd rather a tube to a tubeless off rd. personal preference I guess most people who buy this bike will never use it as it was intended anyway.
Having changed a tube in the pissing rain at the side of a track I prefer plug and play and carry a tube just in case … these big bike tyres sidewalls are hard to get off on a machine 😂
I was very keen to buy the AT. The Problem is the maintenance. 800€ if you don´t need to adjust the valves, only check and around 1100 € with adjustment. That is a big nope for me. What a fucking joke. Shame on you, Honda.
I really wish bike manufacturers would start offering bike in more plain colours. I mean, these colours. Where are we, still in the 80’s?
The people that buy them wanted this bike in the 80’s and can now afford them.
Tubeless tires could bring me back to the AT. The tubed tires were the only thing i disliked about my bike.
Tubless came to the standard this year 2024.🎉🎉
Tubes are easier to replace in the middle of nowhere. I have no clue why guys like tubeless. You can tear a tire and replace a tube and keep going to get a tire. Blow a tubeless and youre done.
@@DeezNutzInYaMouf123 even better with tubless, quick fix just plug it, carry a tube should u need one. 99 percent of punctures are solved with plug, can get a pinch flat with low pressures and tubes. Even when fitting a new tube. U can always use tubes on a tubless tire and rim. Not the other way around
