Yes, that is true. The incentives for multiple areas seem to be minimal. We are at an interesting point in history.
Yea I think colleges are engaging in exploitative and immoral practices by taking money from people knowing they will still be on the hook for their loans even if their jobs / careers are or end up being replaced.

interesting how they programmed it with curve fitting. Can I have something to eat - why did the robot not choose to say "I'll help you place an order" but decided that handing over an apple is the appropriate response. the video also was stitched from individual clips to make it seem it is a continuous conversation but it was not.

In fact, it’s creepy as hell.
Here’s where ethics come in. Our western thinking, and philosophy, where we are so enamored with creating Aves that most people who are hopelessly brainwashed by this philosophy can’t see the wet of an obedient servant class play itself right in front of you in this movie essentially.
Are the people who are creating these technologies are hopelessly aligned in this way? Is there another philosophy we can create the world with? One that’s not dominated by the economic and slavery mindset?
Would you rather prefer robots roam around like humans do and be on the same level as we are?
They are programmed to assist humans. They don't have the natural human instincts, emotions and reasoning. They are just doing what they were created to do - Help humans as tools with intelligence.
That is their purpose (which even helps in decreasing human slavery)
They are rational agents.
So your theory is like saying I want my Google assistant to stop helping me or I want Siri to stop assisting me or I no longer want chatGPT to provide me with answers when make requests.
Your view of ethics should be more focused on humans and actual living things than an irrational view of ethics towards the ideas robots.
And in all honesty you really can't stop the progression of technology on this path. So my advice is you get exposed to information to understand the wave, technology and innovations than to give irrational judgements on ethics regarding a tool when you are even using a phone.
The ideas of robots and tools are in our everyday lives so the question could be redirected to you. Why are you using a phone, the internet, a PC and whatsoever
The creation of figure 1 is a great achievement and I hope to see more technological innovations. I just hope you don't get left behind as the world progresses in your boxed way of thinking
