If you pay close attention, Obito's Sharingan awakening went from 2 dot right into Mangekyou (3 dot were skipped). According to Tobirama Senju, the the deeper the love Uchiha felt, the stronger the Uchiha becomes when they loses those deepened loves. So Obito, just how much pain was Rin's death mean to you? 😭😭😭
It probably wasn't just Rin dying, but in that immediate moment, it was also probably due to the fact that Kakashi was her murderer. The friend he trusted with protecting her, that he trusted with basically everything to him, betrayed him. That, combined with the death of Rin, is two horrible pains together, so it makes sense that it skips one Step.

@@sleepy8695 i was under the impression kakashi awakened his mangekyo separate from obito. Sure it was the same event that caused it, but i think he’d have unlocked the MS even if obito hadn’t been there.
Obito genuinely has one of the coolest rage moments, the way he just looks at them for a few seconds and then see the moon slowly turning red and the agonizing screams in the background.

This reminded me of the time Sugaru Aburame slow poisoned Shisui with his insects allowing Danzo to take one of his MS eye because his body was deteriorating and Itachi personally kill Sugaru so badly it couldn't be animated for being to brutal. Itachi used Tsukuyomi on all the insects inhabiting Sugaru's body, preventing him from moving. He then used Amaterasu on Sugaru, burning him and each of his insects until only ashes remained. Sugaru, via his insects, cried out in agony as he died, finally avenging Shisui.
It couldn't be drawn either, it was only in the novel.

yeah Naruto has got the highets highs, but unfortunately it can be a pain to get through sometimes due to pacing and all the filler. It is 100% worthed tho for these kind of scenes

When this was fresh out on the manga…. And the fact that it shows WAY more brutality than the anime episode like the corpses hanging down off the tree in the end scene and clearly visualizing the poor impact of the scene, the anime episode did a very good job though in blacking the corpses out that you can only see them if you really look sharp on it which I have to respect though because it was very violent and gory. This manga chapter shocked everybody back then… truly a masterpiece

I remember when this chapter came out in the manga and people was saying after reading it, that the mist ninja was really just a bunch of zetsu in disguise 🥸, but I don’t think it was ever confirmed in the story that it was true 🤔

obito's eyes bleeding because of mangekyo overuse and still not going blind because of zetsu is such a great detail; also the early visions of rin's death really showing how both kakashi and obito share the same dimension of their sharingan. the mangekyo was already building up with what was happening in front of kakashi and obito was receiving those images, it finally materialized when obito said "i wont accept this"

Rin ran into Chidori after she became a Jinchuuriki. She knew the Hidden Mist would use her as a weapon against Leaf Village so she asked Kakashi to kill her to protect them. He refused so when he went to attack her kidnappers, Rin diverted the attack.

Obito didn´t become evil just bacause Kakashi killed Rin....he turned evil because he saw there exists something wicked that allowed circunstances of heading his comrades to the extreme of killing each other.
He realized the cause of all this hell was war and the system shinobi the one that controlls everything....that causes Obito to turn against the system and becoming a rogue ninja.
Since Obito´s perspective it was another war, another tragedy in which he couldn´t arrive in time to stop this, he doesn´t blame Kakashi.....he blames the ninja system for allowing war to exist, so he will destroy the Karma cycle and build an utopy world where people could experience true peace.
It was the perfect plan for Madara.

am i the only one that finds it fascinating how different the female and male commentaries focus are? all the boys are hung up on exterior details like his speed and strength and revenge while the females are focused on internal details like the emotional aspects?
funny is that actually all jutsus and wars/fights has to look brutal like this (except that here it was shown in a more gruesome way) but anime of course tries to avoid showing severe outcomes (Kimimaro for example who's bones pierces throught his skin and not grows like some bone generator) so it seems everything like "endurable" or "painful" without reaching terms of death (One Piece is other example with this kind of changes with the famous fight of Whitebeard), yet there's just some scenes like this that can't be avoided to censor and manga does shows this kind of stuff even since the beginning of the series~

How none of these guys were around when this episode was live is a crime. 345 was an instant top 10 episode and I’m just glad people can still enjoy it for the first time anyway
To those who don't understand, Obito thought he was going to die, so he told Kakashi to protect Rin and held him to a promise. He wanted so badly to tell Rin how he loved her and now he's about to die. Suddenly he's alive and works harder than ever to rebiuld his strength and surprise them. Then he hears they're being attacked, he rushes to help Kakashi protect her, only to see that he's killed her. All of that comes crashing down on him. It doesn't matter what led up to Kakashi killing her, to Obito it's just the fact that she's dead. Which is why when he calms down, he doesn't kill Kakashi. He doesn't care anymore. He can kill and leave whoever he wants alive because in the end, he'll just recreate a new reality. Killed Minato along the way? Who cares? He'll be alive in the new world. That's why he goes so far and becomes ruthless. Because it's all about the end goal. Nothing in the present matters.
Pretty sure Obito cared what lead to Rin’s death since he did investigate and discoves Rin committed suicide
@@dennyden7612 I meant at the time. When he went back to Madara he was determined to do the Infinite Tsukuyomi to create a world where she was alive. Eventually he did find out but at that point he was already going through with his plan and regardless he still wanted her back.

Awhile back there was a discussion on Quora over who had it worse Itachi or Obito. And yeah Itachi was forced to do horrible things as an adult but Obito was just a kid when this went down. Obito was drowned in trauma really young.
You do realize Obito was 13 here and Itachi wiped out the clan when he was 14, right? There's almost no age difference

@Xombiticus Itachi killed the woman he loved, his mother and father and every member of his family but Sasuke. He wasn't given a choice, he was given the illusion of choice; if Itachi didn't do it, a civil war would break out and cost thousands of innocent lives and his entire clan would probably be killed, including Sasuke, or he could do it and Danzō would spare Sasuke (which had to be reinforced). Itachi was then branded an S-Rank Criminal, put in the Bingo Book and made to work for the Akatsuki. While being a true hero to Konoha, he was branded a traitor.
Obito was crushed, trained by Madara and then saw Kakashi kill Rin (which Obito found out was Rin committing suicide) and then went on to buy fully into a plan of essentially mass genocide to force peace through fear of absolute destruction.
Obito had it hard, but it's not even close compared to Itachi. It's like comparing a butterfly having a hard time to a drowning puppy having a hard time
