- Smashie and Nicey reflect on their radio careers after their depature from Fab FM. Features Harry Enfield and Paul Whitehouse. Broadcast on BBC1 in 1994. This was inspired by the shake up of BBC Radio 1 by Matthew Bannister which saw the departure of DJs such as Dave Lee Travis and Simon Bates.
Note this has been edited to remove a particular audio track following a claim for copyright.
I've never forgotten the part from [02:09] "I'm not a happy man, you know", that and his delivery of the line "I bloody hate that man" both have stayed with me since i saw it when it was first broadcast, incredible, so entirely believable, enough to make you almost feel sorry for him.
Growing up loving British comedy, this to me is THE finest crown jewel in an ongoing saga. Harry and Paul are the best. fast show comes in a close 2nd
this, in my opinion anyway, is probably harry and paul's finest work. i never tire of it and it gets better and better everytime i view it. fukn classic.
sure is mate. Are you still alive?
Still utterly brilliant.
0:50 Nicey goes "Wroth 'n' Rock" on the telly in true celebrity meltdown style! 📺😂👍
2:06 The sound of the ice cubes nervously rattling in the whiskey glass give this scene the final touch!
That's what I came for 1:35 Smashie and Nicey bobbing about to "you ain't seen nothin yet".
they sent up BBC radio 1 brilliantly...
I got the feeling they were desperately trying to expose Saville...
Just brilliant
I saw the graveyard scene as a reference to Jimmy Savile, along with Smashie's childhood and charity work.
And his references to going to church.
@@forthrightgambitia1032He was a Jesuit. Knighted by the Pope.
PLEASE RELEASE THIS ON DVD me darlin
Thanks a lot for uploading all those segments, I can't believe it's been 15 years!!
BTW what happened at the very end?
If I remember serves me, the last scene is Smashie sat at his kitchen table offering the film crew a jar of homemade chutney.
The blueprint for Ricky Gervais?
So half a music track peppered with sound effects has had to be removed eh? There goes the free advert for it, hence people won't be looking for the proper full length version of it to buy then -because 'You ain't hearin' even a bit of it for nothin'.
Good edit.
"Would you like some chutney to take home?"
@Naskeleng After this clip cuts out Smashie offters the filmmakers a jar of his home made chutney.
like the bit at 0:38
"She's not actually dead yet" LOL!!!
gets a bit dark near the end
Smashie and Nicey, plugging my favourite band of the 1970's, BACHMAN-TURNER OVERDRIVE, not 'alf mate.
...LET'S ROCK!
Its ironic that Nicey ended up with Smasheys Top Gear dream in the form of James May.
Why is it edited is that the real ending??
Daniel? DANIEL?🤣🤣🤣
