A punchline to a kids classic...but these donuts are no joke!

Do you ever wonder how to make cake donuts or how cake donuts are made? Ever wonder who has the best donuts in Columbia? Maybe the best donuts in South Carolina? Or the best donuts in the USA (America)? Well...we may have found just the place -- Chickenbutt Donuts in the town of Chapin just outside of Columbia, South Carolina. They make quite possibly the best custom donut creations you will find anywhere. In today's episode of Donuts and Diners, we meet Tre and Sue, the owners of Chickenbutt Donuts. They will put together our custom order of a dozen delicious pastries.
Starting with a blank canvas of a "naked" vanilla cake donut, each custom creation is handmade to order. Picking from an almost endless list of toppings, the combinations are only limited by your imagination. Our dozen donuts included works of culinary artwork called the "chicken butt", the "Elvis", the "Lake Murray Monster", and the "Oh My"! We also got apple fritters (regular and cinnamon sugar glaze) and a Pershing. You'll have to watch the video to see everything we got.
You may wonder where the name "Chickenbutt" came from. Well, here is what they say on their website: "So many people want to know why CHICKENBUTT. When we (Tre and Sue) were working on the concept of what we wanted our donut shop to look like, Tre wanted to do a Tiki theme. He tried and tried to make that combination work and just couldn't. Then one day, our kids (Jack and Max) came in and said, "DAD, DAD, DAD!!! GUESS WHAT????", Tre said "WHAT?" and they said "CHICKENBUTT!!!" then ran out of the room laughing like it was the funniest thing in the world. At that moment, Tre said....hmmmm...Chickenbutt and Donut rhyme. Then he drew the logo and that brings is to where we are today". After you've had the donuts, you'll be glad they are where they are today!!
Wondering about the flavors? "If you know anything about us, you know that we are anything but boring. Unlike larger donut chains with a corporate unyielding attitude that is devoid of any remnant of joy, we like to keep life interesting and mix it up (literally), with the largest variety of toppings available at a donut shop that is located directly northwest of Johnson Marina Road, beside a small barber shop.
With every donut made to order, we have a variety of flavors and toppings to fit your taste. We always have our famous Majestic Vanilla base flavor available. Like a blank slate for your tastebuds, Majestic Vanilla provides a canvas that you can customize with toppings including glazes to fit your every whim.
We also have a rotating selection of Specialty Flavors of the Day, which change daily, including but not limited to: Apple Cider, Apple Fritters, Pumpkin Spice, Blueberry, Chocolate, Red Velvet, and pastries such as Apple Fritters &, Pershings.
