Brazos Bend State Park is located in Needville, Texas. It is about an hour south of Houston, Texas. Brazos Bend State Park is part of the Texas State Parks system.
Brazos Bend State Park is known for having lots of alligators who live in the water. There are no alligator sightings on this drive, but be careful if you choose to visit the park yourself. There are lots and lots of alligators who live in the lake and people see them every day. Please be especially careful if you have small children or pets.
Brazos Bend State Park is a very large state park with lots of activities. Many photographers enjoy going to the state park to take pictures of wildlife. There are also lots of playgrounds for children to play on and picnic tables with grills available to use.
There are a lot of activities available to participate in such as hiking and camping. There are RV hook ups for people who like to camp with an RV. There are lots of nice campsites with nearby bathroom facilities for campers. The unique landscape of Brazos Bend State Park is lots of fun for visitors.
There is no swimming in Brazos Bend State Park. Swimming is not allowed due to the alligators. There are lots of easy walking trails and longer hikes. One of the walking trails is ADA compliant for visitors to Brazos Bend State Park who want to use a more accessible trail. There are also viewing platforms to observe the wildlife from a safe distance, especially the alligators, which are plentiful.
