Thanks to your video and some other CZcamsr I was able to go return my Chanel bag! I’ve been saving finally I’ve enough and decided to buy a Chanel bag for my bday so I called the local store first was Chanel chadstone Melbourne the Sa said we got one but someone is looking at it and he said sorry it’s gone! So I called the Chanel Collin city store the sa said she got one for me it’s on hold prefect condition! When I get there I feel really uncomfortable the security and the staffs there keep looking at me! I was so excited didn’t have a look at it probably ( I thought they would do that for me) purchase it lucky I video it unblocked just in case and there’s a scratch also the bag wasn’t standing straight. I quickly msg the sa told her about it she replied we check the bag was prefect so I end up sending her the video! After that she still try to convince me that’s the bag is super rare and am I sure to return it!?? Omg yes I told her I pay a lot for it I would like it to be prefect so disappointed ☹️ I thought the staffs of Chanel should have a look out for their customers

Literally everything that you’ve said confirms my entire opinion about the quality of Chanel’s flap 😮 I also own a vintage medium flap but with gold ware hardware from early 2000’s, and I must say it’s holding up extremely well. I bought some felt from Michael’s to protect the bag... very inexpensive 😊 I’m honestly so happy to find your channel ! Thank you for this vid 🌸

Yay !! You finally found one !! It’s beautiful ! Yes older bags are definitely superior when it comes to quality ! LV is the same.... quality 15 years back was far better than today ! Chanel prices brand new just don’t match the quality sadly! You got a great bargain with your bag 💖💖

I really can’t get over you experience a pop stitch & no apology from Chanel it’s self🤯 However, when I purchase my first Chanel it will definitely be pre loved! I find older bags are well made and actually worth the money due to how they are made. I’m happy you found a bag you love💕

Congrats, it's a vintage beauty. I love mine in gold hardware from the 90s. So far I only bought Chanel rectangular and square minis from the Chanel boutique. My maxi and reissue I bought preloved, the older quality is amazing 🎄❤️

Congrats on your classic flap! Getting a deal always feels great. My tan lambskin 2015 CF was around same price, hence why I couldn't resist. It's a shame I know now I'm just not comfortable using lambskin, but you do you. Buffing sheepskin and calfskin works also, I did it for small dents. Takes longer with calfskin however. My favorite cleaner is Collonil cleaning foam and Cadillac Care conditioner. I was also successful renewing corners to an old lambskin single flap with Kiwi polish. But nothing worked with the tan CF corners or darkening on flap, maybe bc newer lambskin, maybe bc color. Try to stay warm. ⛄XO

Great buy!! I have a vintage calfskin Chanel from 1980s - same year of my birth year 😌 and it still holds up really well. Cos it is preloved i'm dont need to be too careful with it haha love the carefree feeling 🤣

I just purchased my first vintage Chanel from fashionphile and received it last week (September 2021). To my surprise, the prior owner’s things were still in the bag including a hair clip, straight pin, and a few candy/gum wrappers. In addition the bag had a strong smell of talcum powder. I’ll be calling fashionphile to discuss. I’ll need to figure out how to thoroughly clean the bag as well.

Can I just say I LOVE how informative and transparent all your videos have been! I think your M/L vintage classic flap is beautiful and in such great condition. I have been on the hunt for one in EUC and finally stumbled across a lambskin double flap on fashionphile a week ago. I purchased it because the bag looked like it was in great condition for its age and the price was right! Everything checked out once I received it but did notice the burgundy interior seemed a little (very little) sticky. With your “experienced” opinion with Chanel bags, is this normal for an 8 year old purse? Did your vintage have a faint stick to it when you touch the interior of the bag? I’m worried that maybe over time, the interior will eventually start peeling?
Aw I’m so glad you’re enjoying my videos! As for the stickiness under the flap, I’ve not experienced this before but perhaps it’s from moisture? I would sit it next to some baking powder to see if the moisture gets absorbed... or try asking the Leather Surgeons for advice!

I feel as though Vintage lambkins flaps are more common to find on the preloved market. Have you came across any/would you have gone with the vintage caviar or stick with the lambskin flap that you have now? 😊

Yes yes yes to everything. I’ve purchased and returned THREE classic flaps in the past 2 years. Popped stitch, super dry flat caviar and then finally bc i didn’t like the gold tone hardware compared to the older 24k gold plating. I have an 8 series and an 11 series. They are perfection ♥️. Enjoy...she’s a beauty!!!

I don't know if the camera somehow distorts the picture of your bag. I just really get a lot of eye on the bag patterned "squares". it looks like they would not fit with the case lid and the case. so I mean the grids don't match. Especially on the other side of the bag?
Mari Hänninen It’s funny you mention that bc when I watched my own video after filming I noticed that too!! Oddly enough, in person, the bag lines up neatly. I think it showed up that way on camera bc of the way I was holding it from an angle!! Thanks for your concern!! 😊

Anyway I’m so happy you found your chanel bag ! Buying pre loved can be a very good choice in that case, where the quality has decreased over the years.

jay jay wow I’ve never heard that I have actually used a blow dryer cleaning Carrera marble heating the marble and rubbing it obviously the process is the same with the leathers thank you for your information

The vintage bags were not made to be a puffy as the current ones. That was the design.

I liked Fashionphile until I tried to resell them a LV Monty bag I got from them for around 700. It was exactly how I got it, I had only used it twice. They were offering me about 300 which really irritated me. I know they're trying to make a profit, but it was not even half what I paid for it.
Great choice! cost per wear would be soooo much better than paying full price plus tax buy a new one and will get all your money back when resell it

Did you have a vintage musty smell with this ? Do you have tips on getting out smells out of leather ?
No odor except for leather smell! I made sure to check there was no odor on the Fashionphile listing as I’m pretty sensitive to odors.
Is it an authentic piece ? I watched on CZcams that the “made in France” for classic flap lamp skin should be opposite to the Chanel stamp .. only caviar skin classic flap would have made in France under the Chanel stamp.
Yenny Chan Yes, 💯 authentic. Unfortunately there are some myths and misinformation out there about how to authenticate Chanel bags. What you’re referring to is one of those myths. Some of the lambskin classic flaps have their “Made in France” stamp on the opposite side of the “Chanel” stamp and some of them are on the same side. It all depends on the year / series it was made in. For my bag, it is correct. Hope this helps! Thanks for watching!
