I never understood why Minhyuk was never a part of the dance line, he's fantastic! From day 1, he's always been one of the more eye-catching dancers in the group. Mans deserved at least a Lead Dancer position.
😂i just remembered Minhyuk accidentally opened his shirt on a live broadcast in alligator comeback, like full chest out lol, and had a full on mental breakdown 😭🤭
And Mbb teased him saying he’s very generous, giving all he got😂

I really admire the way Hyungwon dances, he's seldom misses a beat and his timing I think is some of the best, but he almost makes it look too easy. There is a kind of grace that he has that I don't think the rest of them have. But because of how easy he makes it look it makes it really easy to watch. I don't like feeling overwhelmed or high tension when I'm watching dance practices. That's just a preference for me. Shownu and Wonho are extremely sharp. Kihyun, Minhyuk and Jooheon are through and through performers and I think they prioritize that over anything else. I.M is 1000% most improved and you can tell there was a dedication to get better in the dance aspect and Shownu and Hyungwon have come A LONG way when it comes to the performance aspect. I really respect their determination to keep working and identify their weaknesses and want to improve upon them. Edit: Also, for Beastmode Jooheon, it makes sense that the beats of that song in his bones since he wrote it lol

Like people don't give Minhyuk enough credit he is always giving his all and performance wise i feel his style is very sensual. It's both subtle and powerful he knows when to avcent his moves, he knows what angle he looks the best in. And if you notice he is always paired, or mirroring the Main Dancers of the group.
My heart is so full watching how Minhyuk is placed opposite to or next to the strongest dancers since day one. I think that is the main reason Minhyuk doesn't stand out to others, because people are watching the stong dance line and dont notice Minhyuk is out there doing the same dance moves and giving the same power and smoothness to balance the performance. He doesn't stand out which is a good thing because he is grounding the formations of the group. Minhyuk spends most of his time shadowing/mirroring Shownu, Wonho and Hyungwon. Not to mention when Minhyuk is paired with them for a choreo.🫠 Maybe next time when you are watching a dance practice on your own check up on Minhyuk and see what i mean because I honestly love comparing all of them it's so satisfying. Good example is how Minhyuk is spends most of his time in front of the choreos like in Alligator he was in front with Shownu and Hyungwon. 😵💫🫠 LIKE PLEASE PEOPLE OPEN YOUR EYES HAHAHA 🤣

and that's what monsta x's choreographers (freemind) want to showcase the most, it's their individual style of dances. I'm so glad they have people like that who recognize that can of individuality unlike other groups who's choreographers just want them all to dance good technicality wise but never have that sense of their own person. i LOVE how monsta x complement each other when performing!!
For me, Monsta x is one of the best groups that has perfect, strong and difficult choreographies, I love their choreographies so much 💜

Minhyuk is very strict when it comes to details as what Jooheon said 😂😂😂 he dances sooo well and the waynhe dance and his expression 😊
You are so right about their individual style of dancing! One of choreographers who worked with them said the same. When they making new choreo they don't aim to robotic dancing when everybody the same, they respect different approach to same moves 😊
Hi, Minhyuk biased here : He's great at dancing, I totally get what you mean, he highlights what needs to be highlighted and I really like his popping, I like that he's a bit aggressive even if the song it's not that hype, but he adds that which is nice, his line of movement is nice.

Hyungwon and Minhyuk are my fave members. They are both so talented. Hyungwon is an excellent dancer. He always brings a certain flair to his performances. Minhyuk is known as one of the groups visuals and he has a goofy, funny personality if you watch him in vlogs or interviews. He is a very charismatic performer. I love his singing and dancing.
So for me this is just my opinion when it comes to hyungwon. So he went into starship and no mercy as a dancer. He’s always been a dancer. The laid back kind of dance has always been his kind of style. I also feel like he’s so good at it that in some areas he feels like he can relax a little more and not try to hard in some dancing areas because he’s amazing at it already. But it’s also his personality also. Even in love me a little the making of the mv shownu was still teaching him how to do that little dip thing and he kept falling over lol. Hyungwon also did say in an Interview that he remembers and catches on the quickest out of them all but he’s also the one that forgets it that fastest lol
My dancing kings! I've always been grateful for how dedicated they were with releasing dance practices. Not only every title track, but also promoted b-sides and fan favorites all got dance practices. Some agencies are spotty with releasing dance practices (I'm looking at you SM), but Monsta X never missed once!
You are absolutely right about Jooheon. I've watched countless dancers react to Monsta X and say the same. It's actually pretty common for good rappers to be good dancers if they try, because they normally have an amazing sense of rhythm, which translates to their dancing skills. For J-hope it's the same, he was a good dancer because he has a good sense of rhythm and that is why he is good at rapping too. What I've observed is that when rappers dance, it doesn't look like they are listening to the song with their ears, it's more like they're feeling it with their whole body instead. IMO at least.
You'll see that they eventually found their styles and groove. They were so in sync when they debuted. Now it's not that much but it's just bc they do their own thing while still being cohesive. And what you said about Kihyun being the most improved, it's true. Their choreographer praises him for his hard work, like he never stopped learning .
Some member could be better than other but to me there is no bad dancer in Monsta X.
Their choreographer really did a good job on arranging their position and who to put in the center in specific part in the song.
Each of them have different style but look so well blended on stage.
AND WHO SAID MINHYUK IS BAD??? COME TO ME. He rarely stood out in a group dance, but Minhyuk is definitely not a bad dancer. He was a center in a lot of songs. My fave of his dance would be Dramarama and Play It Cool. Check it out please!
And Hyungwon's nonchalant dance would be because of his physique. It's harder for someone who tall and thin like him so he probably trying not to make a move too big. But it actually make his dance more attractive to me

I would also recommend some of their covers like mirotic, myself, Versace on the floor, move like Jagger, hyungwon's how long dance cover.. all of them are soooo like sooooo gooood

Beautiful is still one of my favourite dance practises, they are practically floating across the floor but I always wonder how uncomfy it is to dance in those jeans 😆 Also, some iconic monbebes have made compilations of I.M's killer Alligator move, it's a lot to handle multiple times in a row 🤣
Current Monsta X has this seasoned ease when they perform, like you can hold your breath and breathe when they break into the more fluid moves, idk how to explain but theyŕe just really nice to look at. I noticed in Love & Beautiful Liar, they weren't just focused on high tension, sharp/ clean lines but, unity and confident without being tense, forced or controlled. Jooheonś musicality is amazing and itś very interesting they can all carry the same moves in their own styles. It feels like when they hit the beat, we can feel it too that itś properly placed, not just moves for the fancy sake of it.
They are all my wrecker!

My bias is Hyungwon but I can't focus on anyone else than Wonho on dance practices. He is so masculine when he dance. I don't know. He is amazing

They're all really great performers, that's why they got Daesang for Best Stage ❤ I'm a minhyuk bias, but for me shownu and wonho are the members that stands out the most in dancing. Shownu is soo clean, popping, and powerful while Wonho is so graceful but sharp. But they're all great dancers, no one is left behind ❤
I will talk about Wonhos dancing any chance I get. Because it’s mind boggling. Ask any dancer/coach to watch him and they’ll tell you the same thing. For a dude as packed with muscle as he is, he dances like WATER. Fluid, graceful and incredibly light. If you put him next to Shownu for instance you’ll notice a huge difference in style. Shownu is intense and powerful while Wonho is flowing and almost mild in comparison. But when you watch him on his own it’s just… amazing. 🤌🏻 He is a top tier dancer and I will hear no other opinions.
Just came across your channel and really loved the reaction! It was great to rewatch these dance practices with a fellow monbebe :) One of the things I love the most about mx is how unique they are, with their own singing and dancing styles, and yet how amazing their synergy is, nothing feels out of place cause they complement each other so well. I also love how their performances are so powerful and charismatic, and yet so smooth, laid-back and effortless while being technically super hard!
And I totally agree with your takes on Minhyuk and Jooheon! I think Minhyuk doesn't get enough credit for how great he is, he has such an incredible husky voice while not being the main vocalist, and is such a good polished detailed dancer while not being a part of he dance line! My friend is a professional dancer and said Minhyuk is extremely skilled and his favorite dancer in the group. Jooheon is an absolute powerhouse, his rythym, expressions and energy are out of this world! I think it also shows a lot during Beastmode because he produced the song and knows every beat like no one else :)
Love the dance practicees to me there all good , Shownu and Hyungwon at the top then I think the rest are all pretty even though Kiki stands out to me he’s alway smooth with it not in your face but always good . Beautiful and Alligator have been my favourite for years and Wonho was always great as well in them
For Minhyuk i personally think he knows how to dance and sing well technically, besides he has that artsy feeling, so he often gave his creative ideas when executing. It's often shows too in their behind the scenes when shownu is in the military, he had to lead the members.
He might not the best in dancing and singing but he's good, how do i put it, like Sunny from SNSD, they can be the lead when needed 😂

Also for me the musicality thing they all have the same musicality in my opinion. BUT they feel it at different times. And yes beastmode is on the amazing fatal love album. Hyungwon did amazing in the dance practice. And it’s funny you bring up shinee because for me IM when he danced he’s the only idol I have found that reminds me of Taemin. It’s something with his legs and the way he freely moves. It’s so Taemin and I love it.

I also really love MX's dancing, and each of their styles. Whenever you watch each of them alone, they all do things their own way, but it comes together just right. I read this in a comment from like 2015 or 2016, but someone said about Minhyuk's dancing is such a male kpop idol's ideal style? It's kind of like what male kpop dance training is directed towards in a way. He has enough power to properly accent what needs to be accented, and overall is super balanced in many ways. I've always loved watching him dance. I think he has learned to be more fluid as time goes on, but that might also be due to change in choreography. Jooheon is all about exploding power, but he has the insane musicality that allows it to be perfectly controlled. Shownu is very fluid, and yet has the muscles that provide him with extreme control and power. He also used to be a backup dancer, and his experience shows.There's a reason every member is absolutely trusting of Shownu when it comes to dance. Whereas MX has a lot of powerful dancers, I think Hyungwon definitely provides the efficiency aspect. I think during pre-debut, and beginning of their career, he didn't have the innate energy or muscle that the other members had. I think he learned to work with that, and efficiently uses his body to balance his stamina throughout his performance. Which is a smart thing to do. And while he is efficient, he knows very well what to accentuate, and when to use his energy. Thus, he makes a very effortless-looking and beautiful dance performance. I think recently, with his muscle gain, he gained a bit more muscle power to work with, and he's been incorporating it into his efficient energy consumption, ending up with a still effortless-looking performance, but with more control and energy overall than before. I.M has his own way of expressing the rhythm and musicality, and he has the most distinct dancing style out of all of them. I can't quite find the words, but it's quite raw and human. I love watching him perform though. Kihyun is the one who has the least amount of individual style, and it's very clean and textbook. Like Minhyuk, it is so balanced, but unlike him, his style tends to fall more towards fluidity.

Yes Kihyun has worked really hard regarding dance, one of the choreographers spoke about it in a video too. But yeah they’ve all grown so much, they all stand out to me at one point or another!

I think the difference in vibes between young Hyungwon and the more recent Hyungwon is that he has grown in confidence and general health, which I attribute to his work out routine. Back in his more slender era, Hyungwon was getting sick a lot, even having to miss a part of their world tour because he got Cellulitis. Changkyun finally convinced him he needed to exercise for his health to get better. Also, Minhyuk is always extra, but especially in the Nobody Else live show.
One thing I love is a Shownu center, like something about seeing him dance makes me feel feral. 😩🙇🏽♀
That's why I never understood their positions in the group because all of them are visuals, singers and dancers. They can do everything!

Ps: in early days from their debut, minhyuk had a calf surgery thats why he is not a part of dance line. He has pain in his leg over years… even live videos he feel the pain and even covered scar with a tattoo. he can dance like a main dancer he is always so good at dance and stage presence.

Monsta X practices alot like TONS OF HOURS. All of them are good dancers the difference is that they dance with personality. Minhyuk may not be in dance line position officially but doesnt mean hes not good. He even co mc with SuJu Eunhyuk for a dance show. ❤
In MX, everyone is dancing line, vocal line, and visual line. Period.

watching this the 2nd time, so many things to say. This is just my opinion but i think the best thing about MX is their colours, their aura? they are different frm eo but also retain some similarities and thats how they are compatible and complement eo. The incredible thing is u can even see this in their dance style, like it naturally comes out. Younger MX: Shownu's built make him look so beastly similar to wonho, jooheon so hip hoppy similar to i.m but i.m a little bit darker?, min & wonnie is sensual, younger kihyun is more to pop. So for older songs u can see who's always in the middle or get more lines, bc thats just what their sound is back then.
But when they mature their true colours are more refined. Thats why u can see even minhyuk stands out, they know their strength and they know how to emphasize it, even their choreographer knows this, who takes which part, who can do which movement best. i swear they are the smartest artist/musician i've had the privileged to get to know. ofc them getting the freedom to be more involved in their work is the best thing to happen.
Now they have mature their songs are just the best, it gets better and better. See beastmode for example. Its a beastly song, no doubt Shownu slays, this song is the easiest for shownu. For jooheon too, he just tone down his hiphop vibe and dance a little more manlier/rougher to bring that beastly vibe, i.m when he just scratch his throat he gives out that growl and deep voice thats another type of beastly despite him having a smaller built. Kihyun here has successfully bring out his rocker side to this song he felt rougher/manlier in this despite his part being more melodic, he still felt beastly to me. Hyungwon & minhyuk doesnt fit the song the most but see how they tone down their sensual side in their movements. Minhyuk using his bigger built (Min's proportion is big, his hands and his shoulder is broad) and make his movement look rougher. hyungwon still so effortless and chill but he brings out that "i'm still the best" vibe without being too sensual.
Sorry for the long rant, its just they are sooo amazing, u need to peel of layers by layers of talent to truly understand this masterpiece called Monsta X. seriously the name Monsta X is like a brand to me 😅
One thing about Beautiful(the song) that you may not know... Shownu talked to the producer and gave up some of his lines for Hyungwon.
