Great job bud! Those were some good ones. I really need to get down there and fish the mon more often. 2 minutes from the house and i hardly ever fish it. I'm so glad that tiff got the whole fish in the video or she might have been walking home. Haha
Yeah you should! Some days it doesnt seem worth it cause theres just nothin biting but this time of year its rare to not fatch a few. Tiff did a good job I just get paranoid when im not the one behind the camera hahah. I really wanted a good picture because I wanted to start trying to apply for the angler award for these bigger fish but it looks like they quit doin it! Whenever i go on the fishandboat website that page says no longer exists!

This was in PA. Yeah these are a rare sight here for sure, usually walleye and sauger. As far as cheat river, I've fished the lake lynn dam a few times but that's it. Thanks for watchin!!!!

Best species out there, aint nothing else like em! Dope vid, really diggin the multiple camera angles! I need to upgrade mine and get a second cam soon! And nice job getting them on the small bait, I find I catch most of mine, even the 10lb+ ones on baits no longer than 3.5inches!
These wipers are ridiculously fun! If I had more places to catch them I would definetly chase them more often! I wish we had them in the numbers and sizes you have! Its crazy these guys eat these small baits!!! Thanks for watchin!!!
I get a lot of mine on 3/4 or 1 oz bucktails. So in reality the bait is 2 1/2 to 3 inches long. I catch them on the same baits you use too, but the bucktail is my first option most days if I'm targeting hybrids.
@@reelguysfishing very interesting, the more i use these smaller swimbaits the more i realize the average size of fishin catchin is actually bigger than throwing bigger baits lol.

Awesome fish & awesome day fishing. I catch strikers here in MD & they hit like a freight train & are powerful. Based on their size & bellies, I'd guess they were females heading up to spawn. April is striker spawn month here. So glad to see you release your fish. I'm a big fan of catch & release also.

@@fishinwithish Pure Stripers are good eating and white bass are good so I'm assuming hybrids are good. I haven't kept any because where I catch them well I really don't feel like hauling them up the hill I have to climb. 😄
@@reelguysfishing haha im pretty sure these are stocked by the state so i guess it really wouldnt hurt to eat one, but id still rather put em back for other people to catch.
@@fishinwithish They are almost always stocked. Even if we had true Stripers in there (which would have to have been stocked anyway), White Bass and Stripers spawn at just different enough times and conditions that the chance of a naturally occurring hybrid is slim to none.

I dont know much of the story of the wipers here in pa, but there are a few locks (not mentioning names) very close to wv that I have fished and my buddy chris pulled out a 25" wiper. So i imagine they have them in wv also.
Awesome video! I drove around for a while trying to find a place I felt good parking in that was close to that spot but ended up going somewhere else. I'm going to figure it out some day even if I need to ride a bike down the trail lol

Google maps is your best friend when it comes to finding new fishing spots. My little secret to that is to hit the layers button on google maps app (top right) and under map type select default and it will show all water in bright blue. From there just follow the water and find spots!

We have Wipers in a few areas near me in Iowa also... I want to go on a wiper trip and see where the biggest are.. And cause they are just so fun to catch!!! Just subbed and nice content, can I ask which dam that is on that river?
I can't say which dam this was but I can say it's on the Monongahela in southwest PA. It's rare to come across wipers where I see maybe 10 landed all year. Thanks for watchin!!!
