I modded my Boba U4s switches to be semi silent like this. Although it was a bit of a painstaking process, I love them now, def think the upstroke noise is the best to cancel.

I'm an English teacher, so you wouldn't necessarily think I would need a numpad. But, for grading papers, not having one on my TKL, 75% and 65% has been hell. Probably cop the white-yellow when it's GB. (Seriously don't know what they were thinking with the color options for in stock.)

Wind Studio boards are pretty cool. Not a fan of their color combinations though, I find it rather restricting.

It is just around 2 units shy of a full size, why not just make it a full size 108 key?
Not sure if it's just the keyboard, but the absence of top out makes it almost sound cleaner in comparison to other boards.

A slight correction, there won't be keycaps to go with the colours at all anymore, the prototype keycaps didn't pass the QC so Wind Studio are deciding not to provide them anymore unfortunately.

I would have been down for this, but the KeyChron Q6 is my new “work” board. Also have a Ducky full size with U4s for my office, but am very intrigued but the half silent switches.
Budget pick… Royal Kludge RK 96. My first mechanical. With lube and tape it sounds good to my newb ears.
I wish the shipping weren't almost $60 to California. $40 would be easier to swallow.

No mention of Q5? I got it before this was announced and while I’ll miss 2u zero, I don’t feel like I’m missing out all that much especially for half the price and built in Mac/windows layouts. I think that’s the true sweet spot and the only reason to fork up the extra would be the case design on this one. Just my opinion
2u is a big deal for accountants
@@AndyVNguyen I mean I get it but if you’re in the MK hobby chances are you’ve tried a bunch of different layouts and adjusted so I don’t think it’s too hard to get used to 1u zero
Been here 3 years. 2u zero is still better. Q5 is fine too, it’s just not top of mind because keychron spams keyboards and none of them end up that memorable. They’re good enough, but not amazing at any one thing
Been here for nearly 5 years, not an accountant (do work in spreadsheets a lot) and I sold my K4v2 because the 1u was so seriously bad

whats up with the numpad and accountant thing? I'm not an accountant, far from that and I use the numpad daily in my job.
