    El Nacimiento is the name of the town, translated to The Birth... The town is so small that it belongs to a municipality. The nearest town sizable or municipality it belongs to is Múzquiz, Coahuila. El Nacimiento is the town of the Black (Creole) Tribe named Mascogos.
    The reason they settled in Mexico was because when they left New Washington (Houston, TX) on June 19, they knew that traveling North they would encounter one of the 5 Native American Nations forced West in the Trail of Tears. They feared slavery or death in the hands of their previous captors, Native Americans, who too owned black slaves. The Mascogos trace their slave roots to one of the 5 slave owning tribes, hence their name of Mascogos (from the Muscogee Creek Nation).

      My African ancestors were enslaved by the Muscogee Creek nation. The Creek living in Oklahoma didn't "free" their enslaved Africans until the 1866 teaty was signed. The treaty did make my ancestors Creek citizens so there were alotted 160 acres. In 1980 the Creeks decided Black citzens who were not in the "blood rolls" citizenship would be removed. All stories should be told, we can do better in present without knowing our past.

      that is not TRUE. the belong to the BLACK SEMINOLES of Florida.
      The reason they did not trust red indians because they took the deal with the white men. THE BLACK NATIVE AMERICANS are the one who "allowed " them refugee on this continent from Siberia.
      -----< Central American Tribes are part of our circle on the planet
      Black Seminoles know this. { that is why many dont even speak Spanish; they are aware of where that ALLIANCE is}
      ON THIS PLANET power alliances.
      The conquistador that destroyed Mexico city and burn down all the university in the Americas are aware it was not thier alliance that built it. they dont know the science or the engineering to build a city on water.
      when the white man turned on the red Indians = it was karma . THEY WANTED to be the only 'native Americans" and knew blacks were on this continent. that is why the black Seminoles lost the war in Florida.

      The holiday has been around longer than the Juneteenth red, white and blue flag same for the Black American Flag. You can’t be surprised that a people who’ve been living in Mexico for hundreds of years aren’t privy to the sudden shifts in how we celebrate the holiday in the USA. I think you should just focus on the more important factor. Which is that you now know something that you didn’t before African American descendants in Mexico are alive and well!

    Excuse me, but the emancipation proclamation was unilaterally issued in the middle of the civil war. Of course people in all states knew about it; that's what the north counted on. The idea that people in a shipping area like Galveston did not hear about it till almost 3 years later is ludicrous. Why not celebrate the real 13th amendment?

      @@jerzlewis7070 Point is that the "proclamation" was not law; the 13th amendment was. Just because a few people in one city heard of the "proclamation many years after it was announces is rather silly to base a national holiday on.
