I believe that so far the only thing that we can do as NCTzens is to try to bring as much awareness to this problem as we can to prevent this from happening.
We have sp*mmed this comment section telling SBS to delete this video, and to my understanding some emails have been sent to SBS and SM trying to explain this problem and asking them to delete this video - if I remember correctly, this has worked before with similar problems that NCT has had (and I really hope they learned their lesson from that), but in this case SBS doesn't seem to listen.
Problems like these seem to be very difficult to solve, especially with SM. SM has had several problems with cultural appropriation and once the fans want an apology, they just brush the whole thing aside.
If anyone has any sort of ideas that we could use to prevent this from happening again, please share. This can't go on like this
@@viivialiina as we know Indonesia is one of the countries with the largest amount of Muslims, and NCT have just held a day ago some performances that got aired on MTV Indonesia and this is a living proof that SM is just neglecting our concerns and offending us even more by diffusing this content to a community they have just crashed their feelings and disrespecting their religion. So what I try to suggest is to talk with a huge fanbase of Indonesian NCTZEN since SM has an Indonesian subsidiary to address our concerns about the mistreatment we Muslims got following these misappropriate acts toward Islam religion by leading a peaceful demonstration in front of the company there. Moreover, acknowledging NCT during a CALL VIDEO ( when the Muslim fans get the chance to) to educate them and also their agency to how they must respect Islam by feeding their ignorance with more information and research before jumping to any stupid activity that can lead to such shame that incessantly occurs on frequent occasions. On the other hand, and as the main responsible we should bring SM and SBS to state an apology and especially deleting all the offending contents, merchandises, and performances they have made and that illustrate disrespectful aspect to Islam by submitting a petition to them in the name not only of NCTZEN but also all the Muslims who witnessed this inappropriate behavior because if we keep things quiet they will hurt even more our pride and we are not accepting this to be happening anymore and we want an official apology for all the past, and present mistreatment they have caused and still and also more care to the cultural and religious believes before caring about fame and economic profit. ( GET YOURSELF INFORMED AND STOP PLAYING DUMB AND DEAF, BE MORE INTELECTUAL! internet in Korea is the best to make such researches and checking out your concepts before taking them to action ) !
