I love the new features where Discord now includes massive blank spaces after messages for no discernable reason, or when it just doesnt send messages; hides features that used to be easy to find... Destroy the usability of the friends list in the messages tab... Integrating a swipe to reply which is completely pointless... 10/10 Discord experience.

Ngl, many issues like messages not sending, infinite "connecting" and things like that happened for me in the old UI too. At least now it doesn't randomly disconnect and loads faster - at least that's my experience

Honestly the worst part of the new mobile update is how disconnected everything is. Making you have to do more motion, taps etc to get to things you could have got to with less movement and taps before.
Before - Swipe right and see all my servers and notifications and swipe left to go back Now - Swipe Right, get put onto my messages or servers tab, swipe up to find the server I'm looking for or have to tap on the server icon to switch to the server menu and then scroll, then have to tap messages to go back to my messages and then tap on the message I want to return to Absolutely god awful

Honestly my gripes with the new ui, beside the members list, is how they’ve nuked the search function in an irritating way for moderators, and made pins a mess if your server uses threads at all. All the threads pins show up in general channel pins, you can’t search just one thread, but you can only search one channel at a time, and the media has been cut from pins and they’re unnecessarily shortened each pinned message too. Discord how the hell am I supposed to check a members message history to figure out if they’ve had a trend in behaviour or smth I didn’t notice if I have to search all 25 channels once at a time
I noticed it’s a lot more buggy than usual. I’ve had instances where I’ve had to press “photos” multiple of 4 times before it actually opened the photos
Worst part about Mobile is servers vs DMs being on two different tabs. Member list? That’s just muscle memory, that can change. But being able to see all the servers along with the DMs? That was so convenient.
See I relied on the workaround because the mobile update straight up does not work on my phone. Discord has always been glitchy on my galaxy fold but the update fully breaks it. It randomly switches back and forth between versions in the middle of trying to use it. The entire bottom of the app is inaccessible and for me because it doesn't know how to deal wirh the home button.
its pretty clear that they put more effort when they want your money for some reason and to be honest I don't use the mobile app that much anymore but a lot of people probably want the members list at the right
I love on mobile where every day it's completely random whether the plus on the bottom left will be for Images, Files, and Camera, with Nitro Gifting next to it, or if the Nitro Gift button will be replaced with the Images button. Glad that's never been consistent for years
After the whole new UI fiasco, I deleted the app off my phone, left a negative review (for all the good that’ll do), and started using Discord web version in my browser. The downside is no gifs on mobile anymore, but that’s a sacrifice I’ll happily make to be rid of the awful new layout. At least until they come for those too, which wouldn’t surprise me anymore.
My gripe with the new UI isn't even the swipe to reply - that's pretty standard on a lot of different platforms and pretty useful imo - but that they moved the DMs away from where they used to be. I couldn't find the DMs regularly with the new layout. But more importantly, it's broken. I can't use the camera in app; when I try to take a picture to send in the app, it crashes - and notifications mean nothing; I click on one, but it wouldn't take me to that channel. It would just choose a random channel, randomizing what was marked read or unread along the way.
The favorites section in the gif menu is broken for me. And half the time the emojis menu won't expand to half the screen like it used to, it just displays a half a centimeter which is barely enough to even see what I'm trying to click on. I wish they had just left it in beta for a little longer to iron out these really big issues. It's not some weird obscure thing I'm trying to do, I'm just trying to select an emoji.

I still use an older version of the app with the sparkles emoji trick. This UI is the best for phones in my opinion. I can see the latest news on the channels and can easily access the member list. And the server list is closer to the thumb and for me it's easier to navigate this way. It's hard for me to tear myself away from this version.
vendetta allows you to use that tabs v2 ui with new features, maybe its best to switch over to that. theres a few things you have to enable first though to get it to show up (you can find which experiments those are in the announcements channel) though i will say i hella disagree that its the best for mobile discord, i much prefer vendetta with tablet mode plugin which is basically the first mobile ui/pc ui

Honestly I deleted my discord app and rolled back to an older version and then turned off automatic updates. When that stops working I might finally quit discord entirely.
Its been so much harder to use the app. Cant even search for servers now (its a big issue when you have joined over 100 servers and dont know how they are sorted.)

one of my issues with the swipe to reply isnt just my muscle memory of swiping to see the member list... its that its WAY too sensitive and keeps activating a reply when im just trying to scroll through a chat. because depending how youre holding the phone, thumbs dont always move straight up or down on the edge of the screen, they might move in an arc, sliding a little bit to one side while going up or down as the thumb moves along its range of motion. and i frequently have that result in that *tiny* side movement result in opening a reply to a totally random message i happened to be scroll by. its a pain!
Man, unlike other terrible updates, this new update really broke me for good. The new layout is really hard and confusing to navigate. And the worst part is you are forced to have this new layout. You can still get around with the desktop or browser ui using some extensions so it wouldn't be much of a problem compared to mobile
