  • It is official. The United Methodist Church cancelled the 2022 General Conference. We learned in August 2021 that the Council of Bishops were working to cancel the 2022 General Conference and have been telling you since that time that the cancellation is coming and now it is here.
We understand your disappointment. You have options moving forward and we are here to help. In this video, Dan Dalton discuss what local churches should do now that the General Conference is cancelled. If your church wants to leave the United Methodist denomination and are interested in hiring our firm, please call our office at (313) 859-6000 or email me at ddalton@daltontomich.com to set up a consultation.

Of course it was canceled again. This is just more manipulation by the UMC. I 've lost all respect this denomination.

The bishops kicking the can as usual. Using Covid as an excuse.

Has this issue been officially voted on yet???? How can the UMC require churches to “pay to leave” when the UMC is not upholding the other rules in the Book of Doctrine? If the official vote for/against LGBTQ clergy has yet to be held at a UMC General Conference, how can the UMC denomination already be considered as “progressives” and the traditional/conservative member/churches have to “accept” it or leave? I feel like I may have missed a piece of this puzzle. Someone please explain. Thank you.
