Honest review KEEN San Jose 6” wedge work boot

  • I was looking for a work boot that didn’t break the bank, was going to last, be comfortable all day, and of course look good.
    I think these boots are the most comfortable yet durable boot that you can buy for the price. There are more durable boots that are less comfortable, and comfortable boots that are less durable. I searched high and wide for a boot that fit both needs the best that I could find.
    I work as a landscaper, doing everything from property maintenance to full garden tear downs and installs. I do a lot of work on the ground on my knees and on ladders.

    I have those Keen boots with the Aluminum toe and absolutely love them. They are by far the most comfortable boots I’ve ever wore. I think that maybe the Canadian version may be a little different. The Vinyl parts you mentioned are Real Leather on mine. I always keep a New pair in a box ready to go and around 6-8 months I change to the new boots. My old pair usually become my casual wear boots after a clean up. By far the Most comfortable OUT OF THE BOX BOOTS I’ve ever wore. I will continue to wear these boots because they have never let me down and my Feet never get sore or over heated.. During the winter months I just wear a thicker warmer work sock and my feet are just as comfortable. Cheers 🇨🇦

    I bought those exact ones, lightest boots I have ever owned, felt like a sneaker, the only thing for me at first was the digging in my left ankle bone, and noticed there wasn't enough ankle support after everything had broken in, as a welder in a shop standing on concrete flooring all day they definitely were comfortable.

    These are so light and comfortable, right out of the box. I wore them to the snow on my first wear and walking on ice and snow they gripped quite well while others were slipping around. With a wool sock they were just great warmth-wise in 20-30 degree weather. My only concern was durability as they are so soft and comfortable.

    Got the darker color and thought they were so amazing i bought a second pair encase the discontinued them. After 6 months of medium use the soles cracked where the ball of your foot is located. Was unexpected. Usually cheap boots will crack on the top. Keen refunded me and I got something else from them. I wish they lasted longer due to them needing no breaking in. Hopefully they will resolve this issue in the future.

    I work indoors running a Mann Rolland Web press 60" we work 12 hour shifts, I bought these keens about 3 months ago. Break in was minimal, comfort high and the toe Box lets my wide foot spread out. Also because of the toe box design I don't get holes in my sox at the Big toe like I have with all other steel toe boots. The ankle on them is a little big so I have to sinch the shoe laces tight at the ankle. I like them, but if you work outdoors skip these boots they have little to no traction for outdoor use.

    • @Mr.Thermistor7228
      @Mr.Thermistor7228 Před 2 lety +2

      They are definitely not made for that environment. The wedge sole is meant for hard flat surfaces. The flat sole spreads your weight across the length and width of the bottom of the sole. Notice how most boots have a gap in the arch of your foot well that just decreases the surface area and makes it harder on your feet on a flat surface but better for an environment like you had them in

      Have been really great! The sole is lasting really well almost no wear, which is usually what wears out first on wedge soles. The leather is really soft so I have to lace them really tight, but they feel great after walking around a bit!

      I would contact keen for a replacement. Even with $300 boots this does happen sometimes. I am sorry to hear that.
      In my experience the sole is the best feature, soft but has a harder rubber on the outsole so that it last longer than a traditional moc toe boot. I wish the leather was thicker then they would be perfect.
