This is awesome!! Our military working dogs deserve so much from us when they've been retired. While the movie "Max" was not based on a true story, I hope it was great PR for ALL working dogs. They are so incredible, and I can't think of anyone better to have presented this award!
I stumbled onto this video inadvertently, I wouldn't want to see anything like this otherwise, because you see, this would only, painfully, remind me, of the time our government ordered us to abandon our SERVICE DOG BROTHERS TO SURVIVE ON THEIR OWN only to be hunted down and shot by the north vietcongs. Just found out that MILITARY WORKING DOG'S who retire, whether because of age out because of WOUNDS RECEIVED IN BATTLE receive "NO" MEDICAL BENIFITS. THESE "HERO'S" SAVE HOW MANY LIVES AND THE MILITARY TOSSES THEM OUT LIKE RAGS. These beautiful, magnificent, LOVING DOG'S who would sacrifice their lives willingly, to save their humans "DESERVE" HAVE EARNED THE SAME RIGHT'S AS OUR VETERANS. To have all the benefits that 2 Legged military personnel receive. To receive medical, dental, being united with their HANDLER and most of all "BURIAL IN A NATIONAL CEMETARY WITH FULL MILITARY HONORS". It is the right thing to do. We, as a Nation, OWE them that right. Wives and children have husband/father back, families have son and/or daughter back because of THESE MAGNIFICENT AND LOVING ANIMALS. Dogs are extremely loyal treat them right give them love Springwater high sources of nutrition. I had my dogs trained voice command hand signs and sent commands. However even without that training dogs will always protect and that is what every father wants for their children loved ones.
