This story by Mohammed is exactly my father's story. This was a common occurrence at that time where Palestinians welcomed the Jewish European refugees into their homes. My father's family home which was built by his great grandfather, was 2 storey house. His family all moved upstairs and allowed the Jewish family to live downstairs. So imagine how frustrating it is to hear Israelis saying that they had a right to expel and disposses the Palestinians from their homes, because it was their rightful home to begin with?? Cruel and incorrect.

My father was born in Lebanon in 1925 and immigrated to the USA at 5. He always talked about the tragedy of the Palestinians and the Nekba when we were growing up. He was fortunate to have been able to return to his homeland before he died. His visit was delayed because of their civil war. He had 5 daughters, like you, but no sons. Your story is just so tragic! 😪
